Title: Reel Touch Malfunction
Post by: jdkmunch on February 18, 2010, 01:52:24 PM
Hi- I'm on vacation on a Princess Cruise and came across something really
weird in there casino. The have a Denver Duck reel touch that
doesn't work properly. When you get the bonus and try to
select which path to take it ignores where you touch and
picks the highest paying choise!! So far I have won 120,000
credits on the thing - you can't loose?!  What could be wrong??I
can't check the boards till Sunday when I return ( in st thomas now)

And don't say anything about it to anyone else on the cruise!  :126-  ..at least, not until you're walking off of the gang plank. :30- :25-

Here's the danger factor.............is it a crime to exploit a flaw in a machine if you just don't know????

If your in international waters........ your not under any particular jurisdiction....... I doubt such a law exists in Marine Law...... albiet you could be asked to walk the plank ..... then there is the ever famous Keel Haul and man those boats are long.

I went back the next day the volume was much louder and touch screen was fixed - and accurately reflected where I clicked input  choice.

Here's my question -
How could this happen?  What setting or what could be wrong with touch screen to allow this to happen ??

Every choice was the max value  - and didn't reflect the location touched on the screen.    For example, the three keys were displayed as a choice-  I would select the green key and the red would get picked - and then red would be the lock throughout the round.

I have no idea as to how that could have happened, but it did make me think of something:

I have one question for you: Why did you ever leave that malfunctioning machine???  And don't answer you were tired, cause sleep is for the weak! Just Kidding! :208- :208- :208-

You know us here, if we knew how to do that we would tell everyone here so that we could "mod" our machines at home to have the extra bonus feature!!! :97- :97- :97-

I hope that you had a wonderful time! :89- :71- :89-

...
:212- You should have stayed there until they dragged you away kicking and screaming, with guards pulling on each of your four tired, weak, but rich limbs!  :30-  :56- :56-

As to the other, it seems like it was more of a software issue than a touch screen issue.

Maybe you stumbled onto a machine rigged to payoff a spy :209-  or a Mafia guy :14- ..       :132- :128-    :127-    :129- :129-    :72- :72- :72- :72-

WOW I have worked on Reel Touches for 4 years straight every day. I have rebuilt a MCB2 over and over again. I have never seen that happen. I do not think the touchscreen was the problem. The problem was internal. They did have a CN about in case pay table of 100% payback was enabled way back in 2006 for all reel touch machines. The machine was not shut down the next day though you say... Well crapy firmware on there part...

It's certainly weird -  I would guess because the machines are turned on and off every day it had something to do with it.  They turn the machines off when were in port.

It was cool to get the golden egg back to back.  I had never played the title before.  It sure was fun.    I can see how it's nearly impossible to get the egg with so many choices.

Oh  - two of the reels were broken too - their back lights were out and the other three were on full blast the whole time.  I found that a bit  annoying.

That's because you know it's not supposed to be like that!  :96-
