Title: Vision start up issues
Post by: cp on October 20, 2008, 04:24:30 PM
My Vision series (Fox n Hound)...takes 2 or 3 times to finally get to "play" mode.  Here's what's happening: digital display gets to "waiting for display"   then Please Wait... same for LCD display... then blank... then goes back to "waiting for display"... then Pls Wait... then blank. The reels will also power up/spin... after 2 or three times of  "this"... Game finally comes up and works fine.  Any suggestions... I've done the clear and key chip set ups.  checked batteries on game board.. re seated most all connections.  Also,  on the same game, minor issue...I tied the wires together on cashcan access micro-sw  and also tied the BV access wires together...however,  when I remove the cash can, I get door open error...and that error stays on after I re install cash can and close BV door.  Can only clear by opening main door / closing. ... by the way... this is a slant top.   Thanks for any insight.

power supply would be the first thing to check out, then the MPU board.

aside from all the other obvious things

Changed out Game Board. Machine up and working like it should.  I still have  the cash can removed error.  When I pull out the bills,  cash can removed comes up ...I  re-install cash can... but cash can  error stays on. "Problem with machine"  on display....   Open / close main door removes error and machine goes back into "play mode".   What's going on...?   What do I need to check / correct this. ?   Thank you.

Is the Cash Can Door switch connected or are the green wires shorted together?

If the wires are shorted together that could be the issue.
The Vision/S2000 expects to see the access door switch open while the cash can is being accessed, then closed once cash can or stacker is re-installed.

Thank you.  I did tie the wires together.  I will un-do what I've done.

I reconnected the (slant top)  BV door access micro sw.  and left the  cash can access door micro sw tied together. Problem solved. Foster was correct... machine needed to see a door open while accessing cash can.  Thanks again !

I think he means the mpu board mounted in the tray on the left side of the machine.
