Title: igt s-plus display flickering/shorted mother pcb and/or mpu pcb/ps ? Post by: pindoc2 on March 03, 2010, 03:24:32 PM I think the "sleepers" shorted something as the guy tryed to boot it up with the Q's sitting on the pcb/against an x-former primary/secondary lead that was exposed, the mother pcb had no cover and smoked a mains fuse..it was replaced and is ok.
I will try the continuity test as per igt diagnostic flow charts, it is also a possibilty that the ps got damaged, the guy said it actually smoked ! I repaired a transformer output/2ndary lead with solder/heatshrink, he just wants to play, but is turning into a cash pit, he got taken on the initial cost of the game/not working..I still have not tested the dc output at the ps, the displays just flicker with no logic..this is a repair job that seems to have no resolve ! I also feel the chip reset kit will do little in this as the amount of damage remains to be seen.. I also installed a new battery and new cmos/ram at u51, it wont do squat besides flicker at the displays ! tia Title: Re: igt s-plus display flickering/shorted mother pcb and/or mpu pcb/ps ? Post by: Foster on March 03, 2010, 10:08:34 PM The main S+ Power Supply only outputs AC
The DC power supply is on the MPU There is a S+ IBA electronics wiring diagram in the submit a new file section. |
