Title: BALLY CC-62-C Coin Acceptor Post by: coinopshop on March 07, 2010, 03:45:07 PM Having one heck of a time changing these over from a $1 token to .25 cents ( quarters ). I got one out of 3 to actually take a quarter. I've adjusted the rail. I've tried adjusting the "pot" with no luck. Is the weight on the damper "really" that important ? I know there is another weight for a quarter. But since a quarter weighs less than a dollar token, couldn't I just grind of some weight until it works ? I really don't beileve the weight is the problem here.
Is there a way to "always enable" the acceptor ? Something to do with the "inhibit" wire ? You guys playing an early April Fool's joke on me? :72- You really don't need the dampner for U.S. quarters. It sounds like the one you have in there is too heavy and it's actually inhibiting the smooth flow of the coins falling through. Just take a small flat screwdriver and fully remove it from the coin comparitor and you should be okay. Take a look at Suzo-Happs website for coin comparitors....in there you will find the correct weighted dampner for U.S. quarters. I looked for the heck of it...lol It's 2.6 grams for nickels and quarters. Larger tokens and .50 cent pieces use heavier dampners that weigh up to 14.2 grams whereas pennies and dimes use much lighter dampners! But, I'm not sure on the lenghth of the "plastic arm" though.

I removed the lever arm and the weight as pictured and it works just fine. |
