Title: Zeus in 550?
Post by: hd474 on March 12, 2010, 04:55:20 PM
Hello,
I'm completely new to WMS video slots. I know the newer games from the casinos in Vegas, but I never worked on any of these. Now I have a chance to get a 550 series machine and have some questions:
Will the game "Zeus" work in a 550 (I assume not, but want to be sure)?
A "Jackpot Party" should work, how is the software stored in the machine (Eprom, CF Card or other?)
Is is difficult to get conversion kits (9" (?) Square top? Which game can you recommend?
Are these babies reliable?

Thanks for your help!!!

Jens

550's are good machines and reliable.

Zues is possible but get out your check book.  You need to change out the back plane and upgrade the board to a CPUnxt.  Between board, back plane, and software you should anticipate something over $2,000 in additional investment over the initial cost of the 550.  My advice....don't do it.  Sit patient for a year or so and wait for the price of Bluebird machines to come down when they are more available.

Yes the original Jackpot Party will work with a 550 but not the Super Jackpot Party game version.

Good luck.

Jim

Either way just feels like a bad investment to me at this point....two to three years ago it was a great option to be able to play the newer games.  But at this point....just seeing what is about to happen with the Bluebirds...their availability and cost....I personally would wait for it.

Sorry to hear you may be selling the CPU-NXT board, hopefully its for a BB. Possible good news for NLG 550 owners though.

Thanks guys!

I think, I might change it to "Jackpot Party" (I like the old version better, lucky me). But for the Zeus I'll wait till I can get a Bluebird.

Zues is a great game...I love it.  I also really like Invaders from the Planet Moolah and Crystal Forest....harder to find in the casino's it seems these days.  Man those cows crack me up...LOL.

It takes more than a "Full nxt kit" to play the hot hot super spin games.  They require SPN hardware which only works on bluebird cabinets.

LOVE THE COWS!  I have this game on my cpu/nxt at home currently and can't stop playing it.

Planet Moolah and Crystal Forest are great games! At the Riviera a few years ago I was killing time waiting for my wife to come down for breakfast. Playing Crystal Forest at about 45 cents a spin I hit the free spins and kept going for twenty minutes. Made a little over $100 for my small investment!
On the BlueBird platform there is also a game called Cascade Mountain. Just like the Planet Moolah and Crystal Forest with the added feature they show you what is above the first payline so you see what is about to drop.
Great games!
