Title: Is it worth changing from long style reel glass to the shorter glass? Post by: Foster on March 16, 2010, 09:48:38 PM Or should I leave it long glass, in case I want to use a 4th reel?
Title: Re: Is it worth changing from long style reel glass to the shorter glass? Post by: idesign on March 16, 2010, 10:35:34 PM That is a much bigger project than you think. Why would you want to do that? You are stuck with a 3 reel machine that way. The other way you can easily convert to a 3 reel plus bonus reel, a 4 reel or a 5 reel machine

Title: Re: Is it worth changing from long style reel glass to the shorter glass? Post by: Foster on March 17, 2010, 07:24:43 AM I guess I wont be doing it anytime soon.
It was just a thought. Title: Re: Is it worth changing from long style reel glass to the shorter glass? Post by: Brianzz on March 17, 2010, 08:41:09 AM Indeed... this is a more expensive hobby than that time I flew to India to search for the Sankara Stones

Post by: idesign on March 17, 2010, 08:48:38 AM I've yet to find a complete 5 reel conversion for less than $500 The true 4 reel shares many common components as a 5 reel. As for the $500 there are a lot of components that get changed out to go from 3 to 5 reel, but once you do it it's worth it. I have done it twice now out of necessity, but otherwise I would never recommend. There are a ton of those 5-reeler's still in the casinos, and a fair amount of 4-reeler's as well.....my advice....be patient for a year or two longer and there will be a flood of them available before you know it. Post by: stayouttadabunker on March 17, 2010, 02:15:59 PM I cannot imagine casinos in the U.S. hanging on to reel machine much longer.
IGT for example, is highly touting and hawking their new video systems at casinos. Even video I-games are considered as old as the S+'s were regarded after the S2000 platform hit the scene. Out of nearly 2,000 machines at a nearby casino - there are no S+'s, about two dozen S2000's, maybe two hundred 4 or 5 reel machines and all the rest are all some sort of machines from the video platforms. I'm going to go check out their newest video additions this weekend... Title: Re: Is it worth changing from long style reel glass to the shorter glass?
