Title: How to clear error: AUX REELS DISCONNECTED
Post by: MrBellMan on March 21, 2010, 08:52:43 PM
I moved my Super Spin, 4 reel setup to another machine. Everything is plugged in the way it is supposed to be, but I get the message: AUX REELS DISCONNECTED when I power on the machine. Is there an easy way to clear this? The 4th reel doesn't spin on boot up like the others do, but the LED's and Backlit lights do work. I have triple checked to make sure everything is plugged in nice an tight. This setup come from a working machine and yes, the jumper is installed on the reel wire harness and was not moved.

Just wondering if someone knows off hand what might be the issue here...

Thanks!

Rob

I did a seach on "aux reels disconnected " and found this old post. You may want to do a search if you have not done so.

Finally got it working thanks to the help of a tech on the Delphi forum.Ê  Ê The problem is that early S2000/Vision Ready and Vision machines are missing a set of wires in the harness connected to the cabinet I/O.Ê The fix is to connect a jumper to pin 14C of the cabinet I/O to A Ground.

This is a really cool game.Ê All 4 reels spin with the bonus reel stopping last.Ê Bonus wheel has Haywire, 2X, 5X, 10X, bonus credit of 5, 10 and 100, and mystery nudge action too.Ê You name it it has it....even dazzle lights around the 4th reel, and backlit on all 4 reels.Ê Plus it announces whatever a bonus is (tells you what the bonus is) with the MM board simm 58.Ê Photo below.

Oh, yes, I do have a mulit-denom version chip in the machine.Ê That's why is shows it in the VFD.Ê I was so excited that the machine finally came up I forgot the set the denomination, so it defaulted to pennies.

You need to move the jumper on the cabinet I/O too when moving 3 reel + bonus reel games.  It is just a 2 pin connector with a short green U shaped wire with a part number 608-687-00 A.

Odd... I did a search on the same thing and came up empty...

Thanks for the heads up! I will give it a shot!

Sure enough! I moved the I/O jumper from the previous machine to the new one and added a ground jumper to 14C of the cabinet I/O card and we are good to go!

Thanks everyone!

Bell!,
Can you snap a photo of this green jumper?
I don't think I've ever seen it before?

I have a four reel conversion that does not have this jumper. Instead I have just jumped the 14c of the cabinet I/O. Does anyone know if this jumper will replace the need to ground the I/O card?

If so does anyone have a few of these to sell?

Thanks

Blake

Blake, you will still need the 14C jumper.

What does the green two wire jumper ground as my machines appear to work fine without it. Is it critical to any machine functions?

I see this is a older thread, but it helped me today. just wanted to comment that I made my own jumpers from old speaker connectors. just strip them and twist them together and shrink tube them together.
