Title: s2000 version chip question
Post by: bkoch on April 04, 2010, 02:31:05 PM
I have a few version chips with different numbers. Both with the 2004 build dates.

VS11nx5 and VS11gx1 What is the difference between these chips and are they interchangeable? Is one just a later than than the other?

Thanks
Blake

Best results usually come from the VS011GX1 chip.  The NX5 is a New Jersey chip and on occasion I have run into some anomaly's with some games in trying to set up MD.

The version PROM controls what is available to meet special jurisdictional requirements and controls what certain features and options are available. The label indicates STEPPER VERSION and the version number:

VS011CX1    multi-denomination –Colorado ONLY
VS011GX0    single denomination
VS011GX1    multi-denomination
VS011GX2    multi-denomination with denomination-plus mode
VS011GX3    multi-denomination with fractional-cent
VS011IH0    single denomination –Netherlands ONLY
VS011IH1    multi-denomination –Netherlands ONLY
VS011IX0    single denomination –International
VS011IX1    multi-denomination –International
