Title: Changing Denomination - Bally 742A
Post by: acorndrive on April 09, 2010, 06:53:47 PM
I have a Bally 742A which I want to adjust to accept a larger coin. I know how to file out the coin entry slot, and that the coin mechanism needs to be swopped out/modified.

I also understand the hopper disk has to be adjusted. Can someone explain how a hopper disk adjustment is carried out?

Any other relevant advice appreciated.

many thanks

Remove the hopper bowl first. Find a socket that fits the nut in the middle of the hopper disk, jam the gears with a piece of wood, and unscrew the nut. You can use a wrench, but the nuts are often extremely tight and easily rounded off if the wrench slips. The pin wheel and shelf wheel are a unit on older Bally hoppers. There's no adjustment, it has to be replaced as a unit for a different size coin. What coin do you intend to use?
