Title: Fuses for the Universal Post by: slot monkey on October 26, 2008, 11:04:29 PM What kind of fuses are used in the universal slots?
Fast or slow blow? thanks, slot monkey Title: Re: Fuses for the Universal Post by: uniman on October 27, 2008, 12:17:59 AM Good question and I'm not really sure. When in doubt, use fast acting.
Most Universal power supplies I have come across have an OKA brand fuse. Assume it's japanese? These fuses have a triangle with a "T" and a horizonal bar above the T in the triangle. Triangle has point down. So what does this mean? Thermal, time-delay, I'm not sure? Others have a 312 series of fuse which I believe is fast acting. Would think you would at least want fast acting for the 5v DC. Would any electronic experts like to chime in? I didn't know if this thread should have been posted in the power supply thread. |
