Title: Help please with Ceronix #2092 problem in Aristocrat. Post by: racergiant on September 16, 2008, 03:42:19 AM Hi guys,
My problem is with my aristocrat 540 Mk IV....and also the fact that I'm not really sure what I'm doing!! The monitor was working for many years but when I would power on the machine it would take about 3-4 minutes and then it would 'fade-in' until it was in full picture. Recently I moved the unit and when I turned it on there was a bit of a crackle and pop sound and a thin green line was on the monitor (horizontal). Quickly powered down and checked some wiring/cables etc then may have been shorting due to the moving of the unit. Turned it back on and machine is working but just no picture. (green line has also gone) Got a manual through another NLG member (thanks!) and have pulled the CRT and board out. I can see the fuse is not blown, but apart from that have you any recommendations? What is my first step to trying to solve the problem? Thanks, Alex I will try and post a pic soon Title: Re: Help please with Ceronix #2092 problem in Aristocrat. hi your problem would seem to frame collapse, to check turn the screen control on the line tranformer clockwise/right you may then see a line across , if so check the frame output chip for dry joints , if seems ok tell me frame o/p chip type iand i will tell you what voltages you require. if no line across could have brought protection in to shut set down ,i can tell you how to test further if required. esdave uk engineer. Hi, thanks for the reply esdave. Sorry haven't replied as of late, been on holidays! Now back and eager to get this thing sorted. I apologise in advance for my lack of knowledge, I have attached a pic. I am assuming the transformer is the black box (bottom right)?..but where is the frame o/p chip? Change all 3 of the largest caps. Use 100V250uf caps. In the center of the board there is a 35V470 uf cap. Replace it. There is a cap close to the FTB. It is a 25v100 cap. I recommend you replace it with a 35v100 cap. There are also two more 25v100uf caps at the back middle of the board. These should also be replaced.
