Title: SET 15 - IGT S+ - different checksum? Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on May 05, 2010, 10:57:04 PM I have several SET 15 eproms - they have different checksum - some work - some don't - is there any info on the eprom that can be read that indicates what the chip is - that is - set 15 or the checksum itself? the eproms all have hand written tags. I have several with check sum 8cc1 - yet one seems to work - the other I get a 62 0 error (it verifies okay on my burner). Problem was would do the set yet the bv would not accept (light up) - tried several set chips - then the bv would work. I would think if a chip is corrupted - the chip would not work at all.

Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on May 06, 2010, 06:47:31 PM all the eproms are IT c512s i have cksum of 8252 8c81 9cc5 and 8cc3 - again all the eproms have non-std tags so I am not sure if they are in fact set15 or some other set chip .

Title: Re: SET 15 - IGT S+ - different checksum? Post by: knagl on May 07, 2010, 10:54:55 PM 27c512s come in different speeds. I don't know how to determine speed if it's not printed on the chip, though.
Title: Re: SET 15 - IGT S+ - different checksum? Post by: coorslight115 on May 07, 2010, 11:35:21 PM Chip speed will not change the checksum. Chip type will though.. IE. 27-512 / 27c512/ 27sf512 ect,,ect
Title: Re: SET 15 - IGT S+ - different checksum? Post by: Buzz on May 08, 2010, 01:12:15 AM Barry I have some Info on 3 different Set 15s , two have the check sum 8CC3 and one has check sum 8252. If you want, or need a set 90 I think I have a extra one I can give you.
Title: Re: SET 15 - IGT S+ - different checksum? Post by: knagl on May 08, 2010, 04:12:45 AM Chip speed will not change the checksum. Exactly my point. If he has, for the sake of simplicity, two chips of the same size with the same checksum, but one of them works and the other doesn't, it could be a speed issue. Title: Re: SET 15 - IGT S+ - different checksum? Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on May 08, 2010, 07:56:16 AM I only had 1 that would not work - and it had the 8cc3 chksum - the others "WORKED"? - my question was did I have other than set15 or ? since I was using a standard eprom.
