Title: Quick Fix for S2000 that throws error messages...... Post by: reho33 on May 11, 2010, 07:25:08 PM I fired up my S2000 today and it kept giving me "Paper Out" errors, no other activity. So I powered off, pulled the MPU, and sprayed the end connectors with DeOxit. Then I replaced it and powered on, all errors gone. Don't underestimate the power of this stuff, I use it on all electronics and it actually "eats" the corrosion from the pins! If you are shopping a machine, I would use it on all electrical connectors wherever possible. Just a tip.

I second this...pretty much all slot machines are like old pinball machines with their crappy pins. But the real problem is not the pins - it's the poor , cheap quality receptor pins. I highly recommend any machine homeowner to change these if possible to trifurcon receptor pins. They will grab MORE of the pin area. Especially the receptor pins in the molexes on S+'s that go from the power supply to the motherboard. If you are not able to change these - your best bet is to get a can of Deoxit and spray the crap outta them. This stuff totally de-oxidizes the residue right off the bloody pins! I don't know what's in it but it works! On the somewhat different note, my personal S2000 had a problem with poor ground receptor pins on the speaker lines. The speakers sounded horrible with very a loud hum. Reminded me of my first car I ever owned - a piece of you-know-what Toyota Corolla 4-on-the-floor with a "spiffy" A.M. radio...yes, I typed it correctly...A.M. radio...LOL Anyways, a little Deoxit and some properly soldered in resistors on the white speaker wires proved to do the trick! The machine sounds soooo sweeeet! |
