Title: S-2000 back-lit 4-reel harness to 3-reel
Post by: PWRSTROKE on October 30, 2008, 11:57:51 PM
Well,  Here is something I am looking at doing after analizing it.  Want to take a s-2000 4-reel back-lit harness and use on 3-reel back-lit.  I have never tried or needed to try this in the past but it looks like it will work, if you adjust/move the blue jumper wire in the "stobbed" off connector on the harness?.  I know a 3-4 or 5 reel back-lit controller board will work in a 3-reel so this looks likes it it will work as well-(To me).  Jeff or Jim please key in on this one and let me know if I am barking up the wrong tree here.  :5- Thanks in advance Barry.

Well,  Here is one of my new projects.  Started taking down the "freedom stars" this evening. Going to convert to a 3-reel "hy-brid" if you will say.  Thought I would share a few pic's as I went along here.  This Game I am currently fooling with started out in life as a vision-non s-2000 then was upgraded to s-2000 status (cab. wiring etc.) to a 4-reel game.  Now the old girl is once again going to be "trans-formed" into something else!.  This is a halloween transplant!.  :5-  Thanks B.

Well,  1 and 1/2 week later I have finally made the conversion.  A 4-reel back-lit harness will work on a three (3) or a FIVE (5)!.  It was all in only having to jump out two reel plugs and only one jumper wire per connector!.  Also for this conversion had to remove a jumper plug connector coming from back of cab. i/o to let it know it was 3-reel again (not 4-or5)-Thanks Jeff for that tip (idesign).  Sure there was some that knew this would work but did not respond-Maybey they were wanting me to "work" for it? :97-. All in all I don't think a lot of people have had the need to do this but it has been done and proved-out.  So 3-4-5 back-lit s-2000 no-problem!! At least I didn't  :98- something- (anthony).  :96- Thanks Barry.

That sure is the jumper plug.  I made one identical to it.  It only jumps two wires.  The 4-reel harness comes with one in it when used as a 4-reel (jumping out reel 5) so when used as 3 reel harness two of these are needed.  I keep a junk wiring box that I can rob connectors etc. from and it has came into good use!.  Thanks B.
