Title: Money to Burn dotmation pics, and the tale of glass
Post by: cfh on October 31, 2008, 06:15:12 PM
So below is my "home made" Money to Burn game.
I could not find the actual game anywhere, but from
playing the ROMs i knew it was a cool game. I don't
give up easy, so this is what i did.

I bought a Money to Burn 550 video belly glass. I then
scanned it in, and resized it to the Dotmation 40x size
belly glass.

Then i took the "Money to Burn" text from the belly
glass and transplanted it to a "blank" top 9" dotmation
glass graphic. A little creative cut and paste here and
there, adding some graphics to the top glass from the
belly glass, and BOOM i now have a 9" choptop Money
to Burn top glass.

Next is the reel strips. unfortunately i can't find anyone
with the game!  All i need are some good digital pictures
(or a scan!), and i can re-create those.

But in the mean time the game is up and running and
looks pretty good. I had the belly and top glass made by
a local graphics shop. Came out a lot better than i ever
thought!

Clay, your project looks good, but why didn't you incorporate the pay tables into the glass? You posted a pic of a 16" so the tables are listed in the upper glass, I believe most of the chop tops have the table in the belly. Just wondering, otherwise a nice clean job.

The problem is i don't have the paytables!
Do you know anyone with this game???
Yea that's the problem. I can't find this game
*anywhere*.  Brian at Rocky Mt Slots had one
and sold it. He tried to get ahold of the buyer
for me, and can't get a response back.

I would LOVE to just have digital pictures of
the reel strips!  i can make the reel strips from
that. and i would LOVE to have a good clean
picture of the paytable on the glass. But again,
i can't get that either.

Below is the only picture i can find of the game.
It was taken off the Rocky Mt Slot sight before
he took it down.

Notice the 5-line reel glass too. I need to get
one of those too!

Neat, Clay.  Do you have a place that is going to be able to re-create backlit strips from those images?

Ok here's the new version. how does this compare to the old one?
it was a cut and paste from a photo, which is not as good as a
scan, but that's the best i can do.

Next problem is the 5 line reel glass. i have one, but the corner
is cracked. reproducing this is a problem, as it has some mirrored
areas. so what i did was replace the mirror with blue. it looks Ok
but not really orignal. i'll see how it reproduces.

Express Imaging reproduces glass with mirroring but requires a minimum order of 5 pieces. You could always buy five and sell off three or four of them to recoup.

Just some food for thought.

Would they have standard williams reel glasses?
how do you get a hold of them?
