Title: IGT 19 pin monitor
Post by: aklarry on May 19, 2010, 06:48:20 PM
I have several I Game +.
5 have 19 pin 17" monitors 2 have 25 Pin 17" Monitors  and most a re very burned and faded
What is the difference and which is more prevalent in IGT Games
Can you change a 25 pin to a 19 pin or the other way with just a harness change.
Sorry If this has been covered I did a search and found 0

Hi AKLarry,

I have two I-games circa 00/01 that have the 19 pin connector, and one from 04 that has a 25 pin connector.  The 25 pin connector adds a couple of extra signals for digital monitors, I think it's part of what IGT called AVP, or advanced video platform.  Anyhow, I had a bad 19 pin monitor in one of them and had a spare monitor, but it was a 25 pin, so it obviously wouldn't fit.

I thought you could just change the wiring harness out, but it turned out not to be that simple.  The 25 pin connector is larger than the 19 pin, so you have to swap out the monitor shelf as well.  Then to add more complication into it, when IGT switched from the 19 pin to 25 they also relocated the power switch from the lower left side of the cabinet to the middle right side.  So you have to relocate the power switch, and/or do some custom mods to make it all work.  It's a pain for sure.  If possible, I'd just get the appropriate monitor for the machine, it's easier than trying to convert it from one to the other.  If you have a bunch of spare change get a LCD monitor with the appropriate connector, you won't regret it!

My 2 cents.
