Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on June 06, 2010, 11:45:58 AM
which set chip is best for the SP1271 and SP1227 - both indicate SET91  as doable but list other SET as well.

The SP1271 is capable of processing coupons and needs the SET88 chip to enable it.
The SET091 doesn't have this capability.
They put it down as just an optional SET chip that you are able
to use for other things if you don't have the SET088 chip on hand.
You're probably not doing coupons so either SET088 chip or SET091 or any other
chip listed in the PSR will be good enough for enabling and
setting the DBV bill acceptor, denomination, and progressive systems...

Anyone ("Bunker", etc, )   :200-   care to explain the use of coupons?? Is this like TITO? can it be used in a home machine, or does it have to have the SAS system etc in use?

Coupons, like TITO tickets - need to be validated from a separate computer.
So far, this has NOT been done for home use.
Basically, the DBV "reads" the barcode and checks with the backroom
computer software whether or not it is a valid ticket.
Obviously this system is designed for casino use only as a security measure.
Although, if I could get my hands on the software -
you can bet your sweet puppies I'd check it out! :72-

I'd love to be able to validate my own tickets just for the sole purpose of authenticity.
You could never bring it to a live casino and try to cash it because the barcodes would
not match the ticket number they have in their machines. :60- :81-
Anyone trying to do this in a live casino would have to be pretty stupid. :25- :30-
It just wouldn't work - plus you'll be meeting some nice big guys named Moe and Tiny with a
pair of shiny handcuffs and a stun gun. :97-

I've always thought that it would be a lovely idea of having a home slot machine
work with ALL the possible options.  :89-
I've always hated the idea of having a cheap car with those plastic covers here and
there in the dashboard because I didn't have enough money to buy a car "Fully-Equipped".

Some bill validators are programmed to accept Scrip Tickets ("funny money") -- I don't know how that works, though.  Has anyone ever worked on a validator that takes Scrip?

I believe when they used to do the coin drop they would take one of those slips and drop them in the drop it in the bucket so they'd know what game the bucket came from. Your slips were from machine 5110 with a $1 denomination.
