Title: open b door error on GK
Post by: icu44444 on June 20, 2010, 04:52:49 AM
is this error related to bill validator cash box door. no lock or cam present. found folded piece of paper in area thinking it looks as if it were used to wedge something. if this was being used in place of lock cam what exactly was its purpose or what did it do when put in place. is there a switch in the lower right side of cash box chasis that the cam closes when door is locked. machine worked without lock and cam for cas box door. tried putting folded paper where cam would be, didnt work. is this the source of b door open error? or am i looking in wrong area for this error? if this is the right area and i get a lock with the right cam will this fix the problem? advice from those who know would be appreciated. machine is an older round top game king w/19" video.

There are 2 wires that connect to a small black switch inside the cash box door. This switch is tripped when the door is closed. You need to short these two wires together.
Their colors are: 1) Solid Green and 2) blue with a white stripe.

Hi

Another alternative is to move the wires to the two outside pins of the microswitch (The C and NC connection) - Make sure that no wire or connectors are shorting to the chassis.
You can check if it working right by going into the diagnostic screen and then processor I/O. If it working right you should see the relevant input pulsing 0 and 1.

This is used in a casino 1. To provide the online system with the exact time and a meter snapshot When the cashbox was cleared and replaced with a new one. The amount caluclated from the last clearance to present and the physical count of notes found in cashbox should correspond.
2. To alert surveillance to any possible attempt of illegal removal of cashbox.

Yes, "B" is the bill stacker door, and yes, there is a microswitch that closes when the lock cam is in the "locked" position.  Rather than paper, you can wedge a small piece of cardboard in there (slide it in from the top, down) to close the switch.

On mine, I have a thumb twist-lock on there with a cam.  No key required, but it has the "casino" feel.
