Title: Just Curious Post by: IFFV68 on June 27, 2010, 12:57:01 AM Is it possible to tell what the original game theme was from the factory in a S+ with the model #? & Ser.#
S+, model # B5033CFW, date of Mfg. 2/96 the ser# is 751850 Title: Re: Just Curious Post by: jay on June 27, 2010, 03:46:14 AM IGT might be able to tell you. The problem is that they probably won't.
Any S+ can be any theme so it is possible that the machines were shipped game less to the casino then field prepped by the manufacturer. With the game kits being shipped separately just to protect the glass. In some jurisdictions (not Nevada) game chips have to be provided by, and installed by the regulator with the appropriate tamper proof tape being installed too. So if the machine came from West Virgina or the like its a different ball game all together. Title: Re: Just Curious Post by: StatFreak on June 27, 2010, 04:08:57 AM I'm not sure that I can see an any advantage to knowing this information for a typical S+, since the only components involved in a game swap are one or two chips on the MPU, a set of reel strips, and two or three pieces of glass. Everything else on the machine is basically game theme independent, with the exception of special top box features. Even the DBV ID isn't really determined by the game installed, but by the particular generation of software running the game (SP chip).
Of course, if you have a custom cabinet that was originally made for a specific application and you want to restore it, that would be a good reason to dig into it. :89- Title: Re: Will Model# & Ser.# give you the orginal theme? Post by: IFFV68 on June 27, 2010, 02:59:02 PM thanks for the info.
I have called I.G.T. on some occasions. Sometimes you can't get them off the phone & other times they won't say anything. It's like playing a slot machine, It's all luck & the chip you are using that day. I.F.F.V. |
