Hi Guys

Is it my imagination or have the following changes happened since the crash.

* Top 25 Posters used to be Top 50?
* There are now membernames in Grey ?

Not exactly.

We had to reduce the number of SQL queries and the amount of data returned to keep the site from crashing due to The Planet's new restrictions on their customers. The portal page made the largest demands on the server (not really too many, IMHO, but too many to suit our ISP) and it was necessary to prune it back.

Portal page changes:

• The old NLG poll from 9/08, asking how we like the new site, is gone (Our recent crash was like a bumper bump in a parking lot compared to that jet liner-sized disaster.)
  
• Live NLG help (senior members YIM links) are gone
• Members online list reduced from past 24 hrs to past 12 hrs
• Top 125 Posters reduced to 25
• Last 125 Recent Posts reduced to 50
• Last 125 Recent Topics is gone
• Top 50 Topics by Replies reduced to 25
• Top 50 Boards by Post Count is gone

Some other changes

• Posts per page reduced from 20 to 10
• Individual members' post history list reduced from 20 per page to 10
• Board listings of threads (topics) reduced from 100 per page to 25
• Member list reduced from 100 per page to 50
• PM listings per page reduced from 20 to 10
• probably a few more things that I can't think of right now. :96-

There have always been member names in Grey. :96-

Partial Legend:

Grey: no posts
Blue: new members (1-100 posts) and full members (100-500 posts) - non-contributing
Green: Contributing Members (any number of posts)
Gold: Contributing Gold Members
Red: Site Staff, Global Moderators, and Admins

I believe that Purple is for non-contributing members with 500-1000 posts, but we currently have none of these.
There is another color for 1000+, but I don't know what it is.

This is the one that is an annoyance to me.  I sure hope that another host is found soon that can handle displaying more posts per page.   :89-

Psst. off the record, it bugs the crap out of me, too :47-, and it's thrown a monkey wrench into my thread-saving filing system. :37-

I was just reminded of another very important change.

• The Submit a New File section is offline.
