Title: S2000 bottom speaker connection Post by: IFFV68 on July 14, 2010, 03:04:52 PM I had the terrible noise when the reels spun.
Replaced the board, 504-b & added the top two resistors. Everything worked, no noise. I disconnected the speaker to take out hopper to count coins. Then reconnected the bottom speaker. Turned on & played the Machine. Noise & static returned. What happened? I rested the speaker outside the machine and wiggled wires. nothing different happened. There are two sets of connections on the bottom speaker. Two on the left & two near the right. I noticed I had both wires on the left two terminals. I took one speaker wire & connected it to the terminal on the right, one on the left. They are not marked + or -. Played the machine, BINGO, the sound returned back to the stereo sound, clear as a bell. Could this be some of the problems that others, including myself have had with their S2000 reel spin noise. I hope this may help someone. I.F.F.V.68 Title: Re: S2000 bottom speaker connection Post by: stormrider on July 14, 2010, 09:11:57 PM I had the terrible noise when the reels spun. When you pull the coin tray the speaker lifts off with the tray and it's connected via the molex plug on the back of the coin tray....no need to mess with the wires...but for whatever reason you had to pull wires off it's always good to write stuff down or mark the wires first then guess at it. NO and NO Tim Title: Re: S2000 bottom speaker connection Post by: IFFV68 on July 15, 2010, 07:59:09 PM When I got my machine from Rocky Mtn. Slots, the bottom speaker wires were cut & spliced with a longer piece of wire. No Molex connector.
Since the machine made a horrible static noise & reel spin noise I was sent two resistors for the top two speakers. They took out the static noise but did nothing towards the Reel Spin noise. That is when they sent me a 504-b Board. After installing that it worked OK. Then it didn't work. That's when I noticed the bottom speaker wire was installed incorrect. installed wire connectors far apart on bottom speaker & BING, it works. thank you, I know what you mean but it didn't come that way. Title: Re: S2000 bottom speaker connection Post by: Railroad94 on July 15, 2010, 10:45:16 PM If you look at the speaker you will notice the two terminals on the left are connected together and the same on the right. So putting both wires on the left side is the same as putting the wires together and as far as the correct polarity (positive & negative) not much difference at such low wattage.
The molex speaker plug did not seem to be the best and have seen many of people just run the wires straight to the speaker. Title: Re: S2000 bottom speaker connection Post by: IFFV68 on July 16, 2010, 01:40:13 AM I wonder if some of theS2000 noise problems are due to the bottom speaker being connected incorrectly?
I guess probably not because so many are having issues with their machines. This is my first S2000 & I really like the features. |
