Title: game king, game display not fully visible
Post by: hoppy on November 06, 2008, 04:01:34 AM
Hi
A friend has a display problem with one of his boards. Some images are normal but some are faded out.
I have attached his photo to show the problem, It is a 960 machine with 7570350 game board.
Can anyone please pass on any ideas what the problem might be.
I thought it may be gamechip related, but get to him to try a new set of game chips in the board.
Thank you for assistance..Tony :103-

Tony,

I have not seen that problem before, but it looks to me like that is an International, not a US Game King. (Maybe NZ?) Just thought that I would mention that so that people knew.

Good Luck.

hi
Yes, it is a New Zealand Game King.
The game is Double Bucks. There are 3 game sets that have Double Bucks in them.
I have listed all the game sets that I Know of for the New Zealand Game Kings 1998 to 2001 on the site somewhere.
Thanks. Tony

One of the graphic E-proms should be the problem. Could be a bent or broke pin or chip in backwards or a bad e-prom.

Thank you I will contact Dean an get him to check for pins. will see him in early December so can check his chipset.

Will be getting tristate buffer chips for mother board this week so should be able to update my other post next week.
do the meters use the same chip (have 2 faulting boards)

yes they can but they go thru the I/O boards also. The 74c240 chip you are talking about blows mainly for installing the logic with the power on or installing the I/O's with the power on.

Have seen the machine today. All colours are ok via Machine setup menu
The problem is on the game board. Put a new set of game chips in it and problem still there.
There is also a screen calibration  problem to.  Using the dots to calibrate has no effect on machine after test done.
Do you have any further ideas.  Thank you.  cheers Hoppy

Could the RAM be faulty (I didnt try that)
