Title: Mars VFM4-L1 problem Post by: Taco on August 02, 2010, 01:50:48 PM This bill acceptor will accept $1.00 bills but nothing else. Notice dip switch settings inside cover, is there a printout anywhere and can this be upgraded or is it better to just buy a newer acceptor? For home use...and i'm a newb trying to clean up an old machine for the home.

For home use...and i'm a newb trying to clean up an old machine for the home. Taco hi Taco .. i am in a real hurry --for home use on a old machine the bill acceptor will most likely only take 1.00 bills or >>old money<<< its in my opinion to costly to buy a brand new DBA for the machine since new money comes out so often past few yrs .and the bill acceptor would need to be a flash model to upgrade again and again -- set settings so 1.00 =100 cents catch my drift .. also i would just set up a cherry switch to the credit button wires -- drill hole through cabinet and put on credits that way .. by just touching the button several times simulates a bill taken in or a quarter drop etc . its cost about 2.00 tops for cherry switch and a colored button as far as your other post of knocking off credits ?? if you have a new harness ?? there are in 99% of harness made just two grey wires to touch together or put two carriage bolts through cabinet in front or rear and cross them with a quarter .this will knock off your credits .. make sure edge connector it plugged on tight and clean and gold fingers on both sides of board are clean !! i will be back in 5 hrs there are others who can chime in for help also ! As for the "knockoff" switch pin 21 to ground just makes the play buttons go out. All connections are fine. A vendor said that there may be a combo player bttn sequence built in the game?
