I was "puttering" around...lol
Look at the serious modifications done to this top board!!! wow! :100-
Whoever did this completely modified it to totally bypass several components...sweet! :183-
They know their board level repairs!  :89-
But what was done really? :128- :129-
There's no heat damage to the top one while the bottom one looks cooked around the red LED.
[Input Testing] will be performed shortly and I'll post my results!
Anybody have any suggestions on how to make an external coin mech tester?
I could stick them in "Young Frankenstein" but I wanted something for my bench.

Hi

If I remember right most of the parts on the connector side of the board are opwer related. The CC16 was designed for a large range of input voltages and all those parts are mostly there to drop the voltages. When I started in Gaming one of our projects was to do an entire circuit analysis of the CC16 board. I will see if I still have it somewhere. All you need for a tester is a voltage source and if you use a lockout option some input signal . There is an Coin Mech test rig available from them or happ but its expensive.

As always simple is better - In one of the casino's i worked before we had the fancy programmable coin acceptors in the high denom are (Condor I think). Anyway someone figured out a way to clone the tokens and the acceptors did not pick them up. I ended up building a contraption using a hopper that fed into a CC16 to sort the fakes and the real coins until we could get software updates for the programmable comparator.

I want to make mine own Test stand for these and
play with them using probes, multimeters and such... :72-
