I know this subject was discussed on the old site. Perhaps some members can measure the ones they have and post. Alternative stands were discussed and my contrib was to use a night stand or end table. I got mine at a furniture outlet. $50. Richard Title: Re: Slot Machine stand How to make?? Title: Re: Slot Machine stand How to make?? Post by: cfh on November 09, 2008, 10:13:32 PM it depends on the slot machine too. is this for a newer solidstate slot,
or an older mechanical? for the newer 1990s say IGT stuff, the standard dimensions are 18" deep by 28" wide by 22" tall. I'm sure casinos have thought long and hard about those dimensions. now for mechanicals it's completely different. Title: Re: Slot Machine stand How to make?? Post by: AcePeter on November 09, 2008, 10:32:30 PM It's for and IGT S+......Thanks
Title: Re: Slot Machine stand How to make?? Post by: a69mopar on November 10, 2008, 02:06:37 AM I made some that I posted on the old site. My computer has crashed since then, I'll look to see if I can find them.
Thanks, Wayne Title: Re: Slot Machine stand How to make?? Post by: stayouttadabunker on November 10, 2008, 04:07:27 AM I would like to add that if you're going to actually make one, then the most important thing to remember is the height.
You really want the center/payline of the reels to be the same height as your eyes- again, that depends on your chair, stool, or whatever else you like to sit in while playing. It's important to be comfortable while inserting coins/tokens/bills,etc.... so that everything is not too high or too low while playing the game. Lastly, some people like to stand up while playing. Sorry to add to the confusion! :96- Title: Re: Slot Machine stand How to make?? Post by: StatFreak on November 10, 2008, 01:07:58 PM Modern slot stands are 22"h X 27"-28"w X 18"-19"d (The slight differences are from different stand manufacturers.)
EM slot stands are 26"h X 24"-27"w X 16"d (The widths are different for the smaller EMs vs the larger ones and can probably get a bit wider.) Bold are most common. As has already been said, the height is the most crucial measurement. Don't mess with it. The width can be greater if you want more room between your home slots. Remember that the casinos want to pack the machines as tightly as possible while still leaving room for the handle and for opening the doors for service. 30"-31" would be more than enough extra room. The standard depth is set so that the back of the machines line up with the back of the stands and leave just the right amount of lip in the front. This again allows them to put the machines back to back in casinos and to minimize the space taken up. There's no harm increasing it but it will just be wasteful. Commercial slot stands place the inside bottom shelf 4½" off the ground. This leaves approximately 16½" as the inside height from floor to ceiling. This might matter to you if you're going to set up buckets underneath your slots for overflow. If you do this you will also want to hot glue a piece of 3" diameter thick PVC pipe about 4" long to the underside of the hole you drill for the drop. This keeps the coins from flying all over the inside of the cabinet and directs them into the bucket. In addition to the hole for the overflow there are also smaller holes in the top and the back for the power cord. The downside to omitting these (and bending the cord at the base of the slot to run it outside the stand) is that the weight of the slot on the cord can cause a short. Title: Re: Slot Machine stand How to make?? Post by: Neonkiss on November 10, 2008, 03:15:01 PM OK, I thought I would jump in here and send in my prints for slot machine stands that I have made in the past. I have made a few dozen of these and when you get a tablesaw set up you can rip all the pieces for 4 or more stands in less than an hour. The more you make the easier it gets. Chose the finish of your choice in woodgrain Formica or in WHITE... :96-
I'm glad this topic came up because I needed to get a print of the sizes to cut for these in electronic format and this gave me the opportunity to do so. The attached file is in Word Format. I hope everyone enjoys. :88- Title: Re: Slot Machine stand How to make?? Post by: AcePeter on November 10, 2008, 04:14:54 PM Thanks great stuff here looks awesome. I'll get to work...
Thanks Again :131- Title: Re: Slot Machine stand How to make?? Post by: StatFreak on November 10, 2008, 05:02:22 PM Neonkiss, I was wondering why you made the stand 23" wide? Are your slots placed independently around your gameroom?
Twenty-three inches wouldn't be enough room to put modern slots next to one another. K+ for the detailed plans. :71- Title: Re: Slot Machine stand How to make?? Post by: Neonkiss on November 10, 2008, 05:31:17 PM Neonkiss, I was wondering why you made the stand 23" wide? Are your slots placed independently around your gameroom? A couple of reasons. First of all I'm in Florida where we have a 20 year rule. :58- :37- :8- Twenty-three inches wouldn't be enough room to put modern slots next to one another. K+ for the detailed plans. :71- So the 23" will accommodate two legal slots side by side with enough room for a drink in between :134- Second, a full sheet of plywood is 4 foot by 8 foot. The 23 inches leaves as little drop as possible with an inch or so for saw blade width loss when cutting. And the third reason is IF :89- one was so inclined to have a modern slot machine in Florida :60- If you alternated them side by side with an older Bally machine in between they fit quite nicely with plenty of that drink room. :89- Or independently works good also with about 6 inches between the two of them but then you loose that drink room. :23- With a slot machine on top of the stand they don't move real easy across the floor. But I do suggest bolting the machine to the stand as they do in the casinos. And thanks for the K+... :3- Title: Re: Slot Machine stand How to make?? But I do suggest bolting the machine to the stand as they do in the casinos. I agree! :89- I forgot that one in my long post. Title: Re: Slot Machine stand How to make?? The height is about 2.25 inches lower though (22" = 0.56m). That might depend more on the stools used. For U.S. members: 0.7m = 27.5 inches, 0.5m = 1911/16" Title: Re: Slot Machine stand How to make?? Just over 12 hours. :30- :97- :97- :97- Good job Neonkiss. :3- :3- :3- Title: Re: Slot Machine stand How to make?? Post by: robsworld13 on January 25, 2011, 12:12:45 PM This is great! Title: Re: Slot Machine stand How to make?? Post by: rickh on January 25, 2011, 12:21:22 PM I made this stand using his details.... I precut everything first then put it together. A few clamps will help you unless you have another human helper.....
