Title: Reel-Touch LED Light Ring Question
Post by: MrBellMan on August 08, 2010, 01:34:10 AM
I have two reel-touch machines and I have a question about the LED light ring that goes around the LCD. During "regular game play", my Denver Duck's LED light ring will change colors about every 100 pulls. Meaning that it will change from Blue to Yellow to Red, etc... My Lobster Mania does not. It is stuck on Green. Now when we hit something that pays, of course both games have their own light show, but during regular play my Lobster game LED just stays green...

So, do all Lobster games do this or am I missing something?

Thanks,

Rob

This won't help but its an amusing answer to your problem  :88-

Most live american lobsters are naturally colored an olive green or mottled dark greenish brown. In rare cases, lobsters come in shades of bright blue, white (albino), yellow, black, and red have been reported from time to time. Perhaps the most unusual colors are the "half-and-half" lobsters with a line straight down their backs where the two colors meet.

The major pigment in a lobster's shell, astaxanthin, is actually bright red in its free state; but in the lobster's shell astaxanthin is chemically bound to proteins that change it to a greenish color. When lobsters are cooked, heat breaks down these bonds, freeing the astaxanthin so that it reverts to its normal red color.

So how does a lobster turn bright blue?

A genetic defect has been found that causes a blue lobster to produce an excessive amount of protein. The protein wraps around a small, red carotenoid molecule known as as astaxanthin. The two push together, forming a blue complex known as crustacyanin which often gives the lobster shell a bright blue color. About one in a million lobsters are blue, but when cooked, it turns red like the other lobsters.

My lobster is blue during game play. With no credits or a hit the ring will change color.  I think they noticed  that the rings were burning out so for Denver they built in the color change.

I would be perfectly happy with the blue as well. The green is just a bit much for regular play.

Too bad these can not be re-programed. I wonder if I try another monitor unit, if that would help?

My lobster is also blue most of the time but does change colors during a hit and also sometimes during game play. Not sure what causes it to make the change. Hope this helps.

We should check what sb version you have.

It's the 565 I believe. I'm not at home right now to double check, but I think it's the 565.

I have the same two machines, and My DD has a much more colorful and impressive light show during game play, and when idle. Am sure it is in the software, probably just the way they intended it to be. Can't wait to find the software for Flip Flop, tired of Larry, and might revive that ring color sequence as well.

Actually I think it is the software on the hard drive rather than the sb - I'll look when I get home
