Title: Have a few questions about DBV-200-B023
Post by: Daveservo on August 12, 2010, 12:04:12 AM
 Hi and thanks for looking,

Very new to slots and have a few questions about the BV. I have a DBV-200-B023 (pic below) installed on a S+ slot (SS6767 and SP0872), I'm wondering if it supposed to accept the newer bills. It does not seem to like the newer $5 or $20. Takes them in and spits them out. Seems to like the old stuff ok.

Also, I was having an issue with the bills jamming from time to time. I have taken it apart and cleaned the sensor eyes, belts and plastic wheels. Should I apply any type of grease to the gears? It sounds a touch louder than it did before, like the gears are working harder or something. Was thinking some of the white lithium grease would be ok. Is there a way to make sure the gears are lined up right? Or does that even matter? All tips and tricks are appreciated!

 Thanks for the help/advice,

 Dave

No it will not take newer bills.
IGT will not allow JCM to release any updates to it as far we know.

:8- drat! So if I want my S+ to have the ability to accept new style bills what is the proper course of action? Is there a BV that accepts new bills and works with the S+ machines? If so, please enlighten me so I can make the change.  :71-

 Thanks,

 Dave

The DBV-200 SS Head you have can be upgraded to accept the new $10 bill and all previous bills, but will not accept the new $5, if you would like your unit upgraded to accept the new $10 it will need to be sent in for the software to be flash programmed and calibrated with the latest software, very reasonable to do this, contact us if you would like this done, there is only 1 way to make a S+ accept the new $5 and it would require major hardware changes but is possible, just expensive, on the gears grinding, don't put anything on the gears, you probably need to remove the cash box and reseat the transport in the frame and make sure the unit is secure in the front under the head at the thumbscrews
