Title: DB145 FIX THAT WORKS - READ ON
Post by: badbaud on August 14, 2010, 07:19:02 AM
This may be something that is common knowledge but I am just figuring it out and wanted to pass it on in case it could help someone.

Trying to get a 145 bill validator working on a PE+ poker machine we tried the ID 023 V3.30 chip and the ID 022 V3.30 chip and the validator remained in a dead state.

I replaced the 2681 DUART on the main game board and the ID 023 chip would take dollars but not 20's.

Putting in the 022 chip fixed that problem and the game took both ones and 20's.

So my first suggestion is if the DBV head won't activate you may want to suspect the 2681 chip on the PE+ board (also works with the S plus slot).

Second, the PE+ game had originally been a single game and the ID023 chip worked but not the ID022.

We converted the game to a multi game poker and the ID022 chip was the only one that worked.

Which tells me that the getting a DBV-145 to work sometimes involves knowing what software is loaded onto the main game board.
