Title: Demensions and wattage of lower flourescent light Post by: golflover on August 17, 2010, 09:04:48 AM Hey all have what I hope is an easy question. My lower fluorescent bulb was out on my 5500 Blazing 7's. When I removed the bulb, which must have been old, all the markings on the bulb were worn off. I think it might be 8 watts but want to make sure. Also my choclate lab being playful thought it was a retrieval stick and knocked it out of my hand when I was holding so now I need the length also. Thanks as always!

Get the cool whites if possible. They are roughly 17" inches long. Title: Re: Demensions and wattage of lower flourescent light Post by: golflover on August 17, 2010, 11:50:55 AM Thanks Bunker, figured you would know :131- :3- :89-
Title: Re: Demensions and wattage of lower flourescent light Post by: jay on August 17, 2010, 12:53:21 PM It also might not have been your light (albiet post Lab it does need a replacement).
I had a light in similar condition (Pre - Choc Lab of course - my cats don't play fetch well) When I replaced it the light did not come on. I presumed it was voltage or a dud and got another. Turned out it was the starter. Its a small cylindrical looking silver doo-dad that is in the supply that feeds the light. They look permanently affixed but a gentel push and a twist and they pop right out. I picked up new ones at Home Depot. (Caution they are small enough to be swallowed whole by the dog). Yeah I thought maybe starter also.. Went and bought a couple and replaced it before I started taking it apart. Light didn't fire up so then removed the bulb. While looking at it before Boozer decided to customize it, it was darker on the one end, so i figure it was blown. that was when i discovered no writing on the bulb. but now either way I need the bulb.. Will keep everyone updated.. Title: Re: Demensions and wattage of lower flourescent light Post by: reho33 on August 17, 2010, 01:40:48 PM I think the bulb is 15 watts. I want a CCFL replacement for the old bulbs for My machines.

I typically yank out the magnetic core and coil transformers and install a workhorse ballast made by Fulham. They are electronic so you can do away with the starter. They do not hum and are instant on. You can use 1 ballast for any combination of lamps as long as you choose the correct one. You would be surprised on how quiet your machine will be after the retrofit. I typically attach them with double sided tape since they weigh almost nothing.
Title: Re: Demensions and wattage of lower flourescent light Post by: stayouttadabunker on December 13, 2010, 01:26:19 PM Can these ballasts support continuous switching on and off for a few minutes?
It would be neat to have a top box light and the topper light go nuts when a jackpot is hit using a relay off of the bell output instead of a bell. I prefer a quieter happiness...lol Title: Re: Demensions and wattage of lower flourescent light Post by: SLOTMAN on December 13, 2010, 02:32:25 PM Yes they can but the problem is the bell itself makes and breaks the circuit so you would have to use a flasher/timer. Omron makes many different styles.

Omron makes many different styles. Awessome!! That's the answer I was looking for! I couldn't do it before because the ballasts take so long to start up. Your suggestion of replacing the older ballasts with these ones appear to be the answer! I have various Omron relays and flashers... I just need to find one that will work off of the Bell output. I will check the bell output and see if it's a continous steady output voltage while the machine is in "handpay" mode. Thank you so much for your reply slotman! ps By the way, you've spelled the word "dimensions" pretty much the way a lot of people actually pronounce it...lol :97- :114- That's okay, I've always though "lobotomy" was pronounce as "Low-boh-toe-me" lol |
