Title: universal double diamond HELP! Post by: imawino on August 21, 2010, 03:50:23 PM I have a universal double diamond machine, anybody know where i can find a owners book or some kind of tech support. I plugged it in the other day and it shows 55,400 credits and it wants to pay out, how can i clear it. please help.

If you don't have a key run a jumper briefly across the wires connected to the switch or buy one from one of the vendors on this site. Or run a whole crapload of coins through it if it's trying to pay from the hopper

Can you post pictures of your MPU board and the machine.I remember seeing a picture a few years back of the Universal Double Diamond. It might be a Uni Aussie machine. Need to see it. Post by: imawino on August 21, 2010, 06:39:20 PM thanks for the help, i tried the key and the reset with no luck and i didn't have time for 55K coins so i unsoldered the battery on the mother board and let it sit for an hour and resoldered,(thank you Joey) and everything seems to be fine. again thanks for the help

Title: Re: universal double diamond HELP! Post by: uniman on August 21, 2010, 11:24:19 PM That is a Universal slot made in Australia. It should have a 8600 MPU board. I don't know a thing about them except I believe they have a Dallas key chip.
For U.S. machines the top barrel lock is for jackpot reset and bottom barrel lock is for meter readings to display. Universal it seems copied many of IGT's games, i.e.; Red/White/Blue, Wild Cherry, and here Double Diamond. Apparenty they could do this in Australia. I bet that pissed IGT right off! :97- :97- :97- Thanks for posting the pic's. Nice machine! Glad to hear it you got it reset. I was going to suggest removing the battery too, except I had this vision of a "wino" holding a soldering iron and decided not to. I see Universal used the blue vacuum display, wonder why they didn't in the U.S., it's a nice feature. |
