Title: VFD Upgrade Post by: DorothyMacaw on September 05, 2010, 12:21:40 PM Good Morning
In changing the game on my Vision. A very knowledgeable NLG member said I also needed to upgrade my VFD chip. I am not questioning this in any way, I am just curious why I need to change the VFD chip when doing a game change. I know that the new VFD chip will do fancier things than the current old one, but I don't understand how the VFD and the new game are tied together. - Dorothy Title: Re: VFD Upgrade Post by: blueridgeslots on September 05, 2010, 02:07:20 PM This from the SG380 PSR, (the 380's are what you are using in your conversion I believe) when the game you are converting was originally manufactured in the 90"s there was no such thing as multi denom, split screen displays, the old VFD chips like VFD 2 are the originals, 7 is the latest eprom, version, just pop the chip in, you will be surprised how the conversion will go when all the matching software is in the game, top box is configured correctly and you boot her up, btw don't use a key chip when you have errors, the key chip just unlocks the game to make changes after the game is configured
