Title: RAVE - Blue Ridge Slots
Post by: DorothyMacaw on September 07, 2010, 11:24:49 PM
Hi

I just wanted to give a shout out to Jim at Blue Ridge. I have been doing a game change on my S2000 Vision from a Double Diamond Deluxe Bonus Wheel to a Ms. Little Green Men. The DDDBW is a very early game and so everything on my machine is either outdated or under powered.

I needed to upgrade the memory, change the version chip, and update the software in the LCD mechanism. Besides the normal things you need to do when changing a game in a S2000.

Jim sent me the software update, additional memory and a new version chip. I didn't order it, he just sent it to me. He could see I was struggling from my posts and just bundled the parts and mailed them off to me. "If it works let me know and I'll send you an invoice later. If it doesn't send me back the parts." I think is how he said it.

I was amazed by his trust and his help. He only knows me from NLG and saw my problem and took the initiative to help me out, without being asked. Not something that is all that common in today's world.

Then once I had the parts installed he took 30 to 45 minutes out of his day to talk me through on how to set up the S2000 Key chip menu since I had never done that before.

All this for a virtual stranger. I have to say Jim is a great guy and we on NLG are fortunate to have him as a member on these forums.

THANK YOU JIM

 - Dorothy

I totally agree that Jim (Blueridgeslots) is top notch!  Jim often provides valuable information to members on the site or on the phone.  He just can't say no.  I have met Jim in person and he's just as nice as on the phone.  A1, Top Notch, Top Shelf, Top Drawer, Damn Fine Gentleman.  Well you know it.   :131-

Thanks,
Wayne

Jim is a pretty stand up guy, he'll help you out if he can and if not he'll still try. One of the better vendors on this site.

I agree, Jim's a great person and I think knows more about some of these machines than the engineers who designed them!  Thanks for all you do Jim!  :3-

A few months ago, Jim did the same thing for me.
He sent me some glass for a IGT machine I have before I paid him.
I told him I was interested in the glass and to my surprise a couple days later they showed up at my door.  :131-

I forgot to mention about his packaging.  I can't ever imagine glass(or anything else) being safer than when Jim has packed it.  I doubt the foam is cheap, but it sure keeps glass in one piece.

I just want to add to all that has been said about Jim at Blueridge Slots. I have been a slot collector for about 6 years now. Over that time, Jim has added so much to the Hobby for me, personally, as  a collector.  His knowledge is second to none, his ability to search and get you just what you need, not to mention his fair pricing, fast delivery and super packing. Jim has also been able to get me complete machines that were not available elsewhere at the price level I was able to afford. In this day and age, it seems like it is always about the money. Some vendors make the sale and forget who you are the next day. Not so with Jim, he knows his customers, and gets them what they want at a very reasonable price. His extra level of service is evident when he "throws in" some extra bulbs for that button deck you just bought, or includes a  replacement battery for that motherboard, etc.  If I have ever had a problem with a game, Jim gets me the answer or solution to the problem, EVERYTIME. I have never been able to "stump" Jim on a problem, but will keep on trying, lol.  Jim is the quintessential example of "under promise and over deliver".  I have dealt with a lot of vendors here on NLG and off, but, none have gone the distance that Jim at Blueridge Slots, has. Thanks Jim, for bringing knowledge, quailty parts, and value to NLG and all its members.

Gotta give Jim much credit... His parts are always as described.  His packng is 2nd to none.    He's the only dealer I've ever come across who will ship your item before receiving payment.   and he's EXTREMELY knowledgeable with pretty much any machine you can think of.   He's the most honest and helpful dealer you'll ever come across.    Thank you Jim   :244- :244- :244- :244-
