Title: Howdy - So glad I found this forum!
Post by: wrkey on September 12, 2010, 02:33:06 PM
:88- Greetings, my name is Rusty and I joined yesterday (9/11/2010) after searching the net looking for information on a Bally EM Slot that I purchased.  The story of that machine I'll post in the appropriate area.  This site was a life saver and I am sure I will be visting here often As this site seems right up my alley.   :3-

So here's a little about me and my hobbies:  I am 48 and live in Spring, Texas (just north of Houston) and am an avid collector of Pachinko machines along with other Arcade and game room items.   A few of my toys:

1.  1973 Rock-Ola jukebox - rescued from a biker bar after a 2x4 was shoved through the lower glass.  Restored and now sits in my ManCave
2.  10 Japanese Pachinko machines that range in date of manufactor from early 1960 to 2007.  I am most familiar with the 'Vintage' machines that are all mechanical.  I frequent the site PachiTalk under the same User Id.
3.  1974 Vendo Coke machine that keeps my soda's and beer ice cold in the ManCave.
4.  2002 (I think) Japanese Pachislo machine (fake slot machine if you will) that is an Alliden II model.
5.  A two player Classic Sport Arcade Hoops games that was rescued from an abandoned apartment and required a almost complete rebuild.
6.  A Snack Attacker candy crane game that I found on Craig's List (for free) that I've resurrected from the dead.
7.  A 1988 Merit Bar Top quarter arcade game.
8.  A DMI Sports full size Air Hockey Table with sliding electronic goals and scoring.
9.  A Sports Craft Foosball table
10. A recently acquired 1891 J&J Hopkins piano rescued from a resale shop currently nearing the end of the repair/tuning.
11. A Neon 'Open' sign that was made to work by combining parts from two broken signs.

As you can see my hobbies are varied as the day is long and this site fits so many of my interest!  Thanks to the owners and modulators for creating and maintaining this site and I look forward to visiting here often.

Later,

Rusty

 :238- Rusty  :88-

It looks like you've got quite a collection! Maybe you can post pictures of your machines and game room in the Home Game Rooms board. I have a couple of newer Pachinko machines, but I like the ones with mechanical centers better than the LCD types, although I do like to have electronic firing.

Enjoy the forum. :71-

Welcome wrkey to the best forum on coin operated games on the internet. If you hang around long enough someone will talk you
into some more grown up slot machines to go with all those 10 Japanese Pachinkos.   :97-

I am sure someone will be helping you on your Bally EM Slot .

Well.. since it was asked for... I've attached a few photos of my game room.   I'll make another post for the Man Cave.

As for the Merit game I have, it's a 1988 Super Pit Boss.  I picked it up for $30 and it was working with a 'free credit' button.  Since getting it I replaced the coin mech, removed the free credit button and replaced all the locks.  I try to make my games as much like the original as possible.  As for the 'grown up slot' I do tend to agree, I've been wanting a reel slot for some time now!  Although I do like the mechanical aspect of the older Pachinko machines.  I've had two PachiSlos come through my possession but the third one (Alladin II Evolution) was the only one worth keeping.

Since I can only post two photos... I'll create another post with the last photo.

Thanks for all the welcomes!

The photos previously posted was the game room which is done in the converted attached garage.   The Man Cave is a room I build out on my detached 3 car garage that is now the cave / shop area.  Here is a few photos of the Man Cave.

If you want to see the full evolution of the ManCave you can check out this link from my personal website:  http://www.rustykey.com/mancave/default.htm

Thanks for all the kudos/karma!

I'd love to see some closeups of your pachinko machines, if you have them.  :183-
I didn't see any on your website.

Go to www.pachitalk.com and look for my user ID there (WRKEY).   That site is dedcated to Pachinko and Pachislos.   Lots of photos and great information for anyone looking to collect/restore these machines.  I'll attach a couple of my machine for a quick view.

The 'ball lifters' are difficult to come by and making them has proven even trickyer as many have tried and no good results yet.   Occasionally they come up for sale on auctions either EBAY or Yahoo Japan Auctions.  But they usually run about $200 to $250.   So I don't have one!  LOL

Good eye Reho!  These two machines my latest additions.   The 1st one is a Nishijin Model A as you suspcted while the 2nd is a Sanyo Model B type.

In my collection I have 6 Nishijins (1 Single Shot, 1 Model A, 2 Model B's (including a PowerFlash) and 2 Model C's), 2 Sanyo Model B types, a Sankyo Modern (1990) Pochi and a Hewia modern (2007) Super Ballerina.
