It's true though. All it takes is ONE bad ad to infect tens of thousands (and more!) computers. This is why you MUST have your software up to date. Windows OS MS Office Quicktime Flash Shockwave Acrobat Reader and more... If you miss ONE then you have a hole in which the intruders can enter. If there's a hole that no patch exists for the exploit is called a 0-day or zero-day exploit. These are VERY hard to defend against as you never know where the attack will come from. http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/ (http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/) <--- tells you what version of Shockwave Player you have installed http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/ (http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/) <--- Download the latest version if you don't already have it. http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html) <--- Tells you what version of Flash Player you have installed. http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/) <--- Download the latest version here. Open Acrobat Reader, Click Help / About Adobe Reader to find out the version you are running. http://get.adobe.com/reader/ (http://get.adobe.com/reader/) <--- Download the latest version if you don't have it. At least the latest Adobe stuff will tell you when new versions are out... |
