What stepper game version are you using?  Try power cycling the machine and see if that clears the error. Depending on your SG there may be a keychip menu option that needs to be changed.  This is from 363:

7.2.7 7-Segment Display Type

This option allows the operator to set the 7-segment display type. Options are
“5-5-2” or “6-6-3” which refers to the number of digits in the Winner Paid,
Credits, and Credits Played windows, respectively. After a cold power up,
the machine automatically detects the display hardware and defaults this
option to the correct display type. A tilt will occur if the selected display type
does not match the display hardware.

You have to Keychip it and select 6-6-3, you removed the 5-5-2 and won't use the Multi Denon button any longer with the touchpad installed, the numbers represent how many display units are used in each window, the 6-6-3 is the smaller sized digits and the type used with the touchpad set up
