Thought you guys might like this...

I just finished configuring my MAME cabinet with around 20 or so PE poker, slots, blackjack, and keno games.  They are a lot of fun!  It's strange playing them on a 27 inch WG monitor though!  Wish the CRT in my Game King looked this sharp!

This is not a game. It's a one screen utility program which is meant to be used after you already successfully put a new game in your machine.

Lets say you have 'pepp0516' installed and you go through the setup. In a real machine, you may want to add a bill validator. The only way to do that is to un-socket the 'pepp0516' chip and put in the 'peset038' chip and then reboot the machine. Then this chip's program runs and you set the options and put the 'pepp0516' chip back in.

The only way to simulate this is to fire up the 'pepp0516' game and set it up. Then exit the game and copy the pepp0516.nv file to peset038.nv, and then run the 'peset038' program. This is because they have to have the same eeprom and cmos data in memory to work. When you are done with the peset038 program, you copy the peset038.nv file back over the pepp0516.nv

"CMOS DATA" will be displayed

Looks great, Jason.  I love the PE+ platform, and I'm so glad that one of our very own NLG members created the code to emulate it in MAME.

Well, I'm not the guy that actually dumped the ROM's and compiled the code.  That's someone smarter than me.  ;)

I just take all of the pieces and make them work in my configuration.  Glad you like it.  :)

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that it was you -- I see now how my post could be read that way.  A NLG member (and local friend of mine) by the name of Stolistic created the PE+ driver for MAME and did all the coding stuff so that folks like you and I who couldn't program our way out of a shoebox can play PE+ games on our PC or MAME cabinets.

We don't host any files here -- your best bet would be to use Google (or your favorite search engine) and search for what you're looking for.  You can download the MAME software at http://mamedev.org/ .

I just saw your post and would like to know if you could share with me that mame and roms??? if you have a download link or something??? Also if these games can be added credits as a normal machine and place a hopper in it so playing is more realistic??? thanks in advance.

Do you have IGT Game King roms in MAME also??? any idea on how to run Atronic cashline games on PC????

Hello,

PE game are supported in MAME.  GK is not.  You can set up MAME to accept coins fir all games, but there is no way to configure MAME/PE games to dispense coins or work with a hopper. Imagine the lawsuits.  See the link in the post above for an in-depth understanding of the MAME emulator.  The MAME FAQ also contains a section around specific games and their setup...PE game should be covered there too.

Jason thanks for your reply, thing is that I have igrosft emulated games and they do support hopper payout <DELETED BY MOD>. I love precisely those poker games...I don´t gamble anymore on casinos or gamehalls but would love to have those. If you can send me a link please. What front end you used...I have been trying to setthem up but I find it very difficult.

yes I would also like to know the steps have tried several time and can't get it to work please give clearer instructions i know that it is prob. clear to some but I am not able to find a .nv file anywhere where is it located and how to i copy it form one to the other thanks

Great post and thanks by the way.......I did the same on the video with the same ROMs and works perfectly, although this poker ROM does not let me view complete paytable. The other ROMS enable the bill aceptor but don't take credit...I mean they don't accept credit...am I doing something wrong??? using wrong ROMs...please help me out with these....I only need some poker ROMs to work to make my mame cab with bill aceptor validator

I have noticed that sometimes you need to go into the mame settings (tab) and then go to driver configuration and change the id number or BILL PROTOCOL and then (tab) again to get back to the game then hit the key for the bill validator

Default (6) and wait sometime it takes a min

there was once that i had to use the coin in button (5) and then it accepted the bills but it was only once and it never happened again if you have changed from the default settings for inserting coins or bills you will have to press the corrisponding buttons

hope this helps if you need it i can post a video or how to do this

Sorry for posting this too late...my issue was because I was using incorrect roms and mame version....so I downloaded updated ROMs and MAME version, did what you adviced and now everything works fine....I finally can use my favorite poker games inserting credits like if I had an actual bill acceptor. Great for the assitance in this post. Now I wonder if there's any triple double bonus poker ROM in the kitchen???

I have built these into seperate cabs. and they are great now the family can play there favorites and not have to wait to have the pc

I have even made a home made bill validator ok so it don't accually work the way a real one works but as all the machines are set up so that when you push the bill button (6) it thinks you put in a $20 just used old play money i got at the dime store and it makes it really fun to play even have a coin slot just rigged up a microswitch to the pc to emulate a coin push (ultimarc Ipac) and was really easy to do

I know and understand your concern about solicitation of ROM files on this site... Believe me I am not doing that and will not do so....I was just wondering if, as in other posts was discussed the release of these and other ROMS, if this one would be released or if it was on the process of being released..not that I am asking for it...but if it was available I would have my complete favorite poker games pfor PE+ complete...not that I am asking for it..if it is available great if not great also...

You can do Google searches for them. We do not hand out/give/buy/sell/trade/etc. ROMs here.
