Title: No Matter what side your on........... Post by: reho33 on October 04, 2010, 02:36:59 AM I went to Ohio on business for 2 weeks recently and went to see the May 4th memorial at Kent State University. I was impressed even though there wasn't a lot to see. So I am posting some of the pictures here so others can see. Like I said, no matter what side you're on, the pictures are here to view.

I never really looked into it - sounds horrific. In the end, what were the NG's reasons for open firing? :128- Title: Re: No Matter what side your on........... Post by: Bettor Slots on October 04, 2010, 04:58:57 PM This is where I went to school for 5 years getting my bachelor in Architecture. All the monuments are around Taylor Hall where I spent 18 to 20 hours a day and walked by them all the time. It was often a reminder and in many ways an eerie feeling to be right where it happened. There is a candle light service every year and I was often amazed looking out of the top windows of Taylor down at the 100's of people that came to remember.
The photo you see #383 of the statue with Taylor Hall in the background (looks like a modern representation of 2 people standing side by side holding hands) was actually there prior to the May 4 event. It's a representation of "peace and harmony" and people getting along basically. The ironic thing, if you look very closely at that statue you will see several bullet holes in it from "missed shots" by the National Guard. Quote In the end, what were the NG's reasons for open firing? Because they were ordered to. Title: Re: No Matter what side your on...........
