Title: Double Diamond machine acting funny. Post by: keetong on October 07, 2010, 05:50:05 PM I have a 1994 IGT S. I had just recently replaced the battery on the motherboard and the optic emitter. The machine was working great for about a day. I noticed that none of the LED numbers were being displayed. So, I powered down the machine and powered up, nothing. I checked to see if the self test key would work, and now it doesn't. I have checked all of the wiring, fuses and to see if there were any loose coins causing a short. HLEP!

... So, I powered down the machine and powered up, nothing. ... I have checked all of the wiring, fuses and to see if there were any loose coins causing a short. Do the florescent lights work? Have you checked the fuses with a DMM to be sure they're not blown? You can't always tell from a visual inspection. Are you sure that you have an S and not an S+? If not, read this post (http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=9550.msg82615#msg82615) by Jim. Title: Re: Double Diamond machine acting funny. Post by: keetong on October 08, 2010, 01:35:29 AM I do have a bill validator and I have the "S" manual. Might be a dumb question, but, where can you get a DMM?

Post by: keetong on October 08, 2010, 01:51:59 AM Sorry, not used to the abbreviations, Have one and will check tmrw. also, the flourescents do work. Thanks for the info, I'll post the findings!
Title: Re: Double Diamond machine acting funny. Post by: StatFreak on October 08, 2010, 04:43:31 AM If you have a built-in validator then you have an S+, NOT an S.
That being the case, in addition to checking the fuses, you should check the power harness to the motherboard. It's a good bet that that is your issue. This problem has been covered many times. Here are two threads on this issue: S-Plus display board, displays nothing but dark, no reading, no nothing (http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=8603.0) Burnt connection on S+ (http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=9367.0) Stat :31- Title: Re: Double Diamond machine acting funny.
