Title: Switching Reel Strips Post by: Yoeddy1 on October 14, 2010, 04:17:51 AM Hey all,
Is there a video, photos, etc, of a reel strip "swap" procedure? I'm going to be taking on a conversion project and really the only area that I'm a bit concerned with is the strip replacement procedure since I've never done it before. Many say that it's a big pain in the arse. Any words of wisdom would be appreciated. Thanks, Jason Title: Re: Switching Reel Strips Post by: brichter on October 14, 2010, 05:06:52 AM Be careful peeling the end away from the gummy crap that holds them together... I clean that off and apply Scotch double-sided tape. Trim to fit with scissors or an X-Acto knife.
Other than that, it's pretty straightforward, engage the slots into the tabs and roll the reel around til you're back where you started. Don't heat them up too much or you will deform the strips. Use the low setting.
