Title: Code 61 on older S machine
Post by: mikeoxbig on October 21, 2010, 06:41:25 PM
I had a code 12 on my 4th of July machine. I replaced the battery and got a code 61. I held reset switch 3 seconds and when I closed the door I received a 61-1. After turning the key I still have the 61-1. This machine is I believe and older S machine not an S + but I am not positive. Do i need a set of clear chips to repair this and if so where can I get them for the older S machine. Thanks in Advance

Welcome to  :nlg-!

You have an S+, although a picture of the inside and outside of the machine will confirm it for us, but the S (non-plus) couldn't handle respin games like 4th of July.

To clear a 61-1, you must fully CLOSE AND LATCH THE DOOR, *then* turn the reset key.

If you have a very stubborn 61 code you may need a clear chip, but try closing the door first -- hopefully that should get you up and running.
