Title: How to hook up an S2000 topbox player-tracking plate GEN II printer? Post by: stayouttadabunker on October 22, 2010, 02:51:23 PM I just went through all 525 S2000 threads....yes...Five Hundred & Twenty-Five Threads! :60-
There's not one post on how the Molex's coming out of the back of the printer get connected to in the topbox for a topbox-style printer...not one! :8- :37- :8- Can someone point me to the correct post or snap a few pictures of the wires coming pot of a topbox printer? :99- All I know at the moment is that it's a GENII printer? Thanks in advance for you help on this. :131- I know where the Netplex Molex goes. ( up into the Netplex distribution board...! ) but I don't know what or where the 4-pin Molex and 3-pin Molex coming out of the black-colored coiled cord goes to? The 3-pin Molex looks like a power plug really. I will take some pics of these three Molex's when I get home later tonight. :71- This is what my topbox printer looks like below. I have no idea where the picture came from so please don't sue me for using it... :47->>> Title: Re: How to hook up an S2000 topbox player-tracking plate printer? Post by: Buzz on October 22, 2010, 05:30:26 PM Bunker All I can tell you is a Future Logic printer, the 3 pin molex is not used. ( I should say, on a S 2000 it's not used ) :103- :103- Wonder if I can find a place to plug it in my machines will start paying off better.
Title: Re: How to hook up an S2000 topbox player-tracking plate printer? Post by: stayouttadabunker on October 22, 2010, 06:17:39 PM Thanks buzz...I'll keychip it and see if there's anything in the options settings I'm missing... :3-
Title: Re: How to hook up an S2000 topbox player-tracking plate printer? Post by: Buzz on October 22, 2010, 06:23:31 PM Printer on or off, I don't think you have to key it to find out if it is or isn't. ( test button ) Will have to key it to turn it on. ( I think ) :103- :103-

I have never seen a gen-ii in a S2K, so you have peaked my curiosity! I have only seen a gen-ii in an AVP machine. They have a front mount and a side mount. I am sure you can bunkerize it! May the force be with you! :97- Mark :205- :95- Title: Re: How to hook up an S2000 topbox player-tracking plate printer? Post by: Foster on October 22, 2010, 10:15:26 PM Stout
Here is the harness for printer I doubt that Future logic changed pin assignment at the printer. so it should work. I would just get 2 10 molex connectors and make a single cable. That is what I did for the older future logic printer.. Title: Re: How to hook up an S2000 topbox player-tracking plate printer? Post by: stayouttadabunker on October 22, 2010, 11:48:57 PM It works guys! It's sweet too!
Just for kicks, I left the reel glass printer in to see what would happen. So, I went into the I/O printer tests in the options and hit the button to "advance" the paper. You know what happened? BOTH printers fed out ticket paper simultaneously! lolololo :72- So, I shut the door and and threw in a $20 to see if they would print... now I get an error saying "We're sorry. The printer is presently out of order... would you like some coins instead?" lololo!!!??!! I pulled the Molex Netplex plug out of the reel printer and shut the door and hit the Cash out button.. Now I got all three options..."Coins, Ticket, or 100 Coins" I love setting that to a hundred coins split pay because I like playing 100 coins to see how many credits I can get on a machine. Then my wife plays 100 coins and we compare tickets. If my ticket is higher - she does the dishes! lol So, what did we learn tonight? Well, for starters....they're both the same Netplex beasts. The machine will only print with one printer....lol And yes, the GENII is one sweet Netplex printer! Title: Re: How to hook up an S2000 topbox player-tracking plate printer? Great JOB!!! :244- :244- :244- Now I need to get some of those printers to play with!!! Anybody have them??? PM me if you do! Regards, Mark :95- (The CaptainHappy one, that is!) :200- P.S. You are going to :211- of how you wired it? Title: Re: How to hook up an S2000 topbox player-tracking plate printer? Post by: stayouttadabunker on October 22, 2010, 11:58:12 PM Okay give me a couple of minutes...
I gotta get my camera out. :79- AW! My camera broke ( :177- )...anyways It looks like all you have to do is stick the Netplex Molex from the printer (The other Molexes are NOT needed! ) into any available spot on the Netplex Distribution board, key-chip the MPU, get into the option settings, enable the printer and your good to go! :89- Title: Re: How to hook up an S2000 topbox player-tracking plate printer? Then you can pretend that they are more valuable! :200- Would be nice if there were some easy way to convert them?? Post by: StatFreak on October 23, 2010, 11:31:51 PM Okay, here's a dumb question. Is there an adapter to go from Netplex to RS232? :128- After all, there are lots of adapters that interface between different protocols. :79-
Title: Re: How to hook up an S2000 topbox player-tracking plate GEN II printer? Post by: stayouttadabunker on October 23, 2010, 11:46:16 PM Okay, according to Foster's wiring diagram he posted -
the Netplex Molex contains 7 wires from the GEN II printer. (see below) What is the configuration of an RS232 printer like Buzz has? This is 1/2 of the problem solved? :79- I can't do ALL the work! :200- :72- Title: Re: How to hook up an S2000 topbox player-tracking plate GEN II printer? We all wish it was! :200- :5- :25- :25- :25- Title: Re: How to hook up an S2000 topbox player-tracking plate GEN II printer? Post by: stayouttadabunker on October 23, 2010, 11:50:51 PM Oh craps...I knew there had to be a catch... :5-
Title: Re: How to hook up an S2000 topbox player-tracking plate GEN II printer? Post by: StatFreak on October 24, 2010, 01:25:13 AM You have to analyze at the two protocols and write a program to convert the data between them, then put the program on a chip and design an interface board.
Title: Re: How to hook up an S2000 topbox player-tracking plate GEN II printer? Post by: Foster on October 24, 2010, 02:45:23 AM Please post pictures of a printer in the top box.
The printer I have touches the back wall of the top box and sits on all the connectors at left rear of the top box. Title: Re: How to hook up an S2000 topbox player-tracking plate GEN II printer? Post by: TZtech on October 24, 2010, 04:48:17 AM Hi Guys
Its actually pretty easy to change the printer from Netplex to RS232 ports. This is done by a jumper on the processor board. You will also need to re program the sw so that it talks RS232 instead of Netplex. Ian Title: Re: How to hook up an S2000 topbox player-tracking plate GEN II printer? Post by: StatFreak on October 24, 2010, 05:01:30 AM Ian, Buzz might benefit from some more details as he is sitting on a box of RS232 printers. :89-

Did some thread searching as I remember we had a discussion about this before - http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=6299.0. A nicely detailed guide on how to change the protocol is available here on Robert Sults great website -http://www.myslotnotes.com/myslotfiles/result0296.pdf. Just to Clarify - Gen 1 Futurelogics PSA-66-ST (RS232) PSA-66-001N (Netplex) These have a interface board that need to be changed to switch protocols Gen 2 Futurelogics PSA-66-ST2R (RS232) PSA-66-ST2N (Netplex) These are jumper selectable Ian Title: Re: How to hook up an S2000 topbox player-tracking plate GEN II printer? Copied from a GEN II manual...>>> Quote "Williams Bluebird uses Netplex firmware in an RS232 printer" Title: Re: How to hook up an S2000 topbox player-tracking plate GEN II printer?
