Title: Slot Technician schools
Post by: soul7mirror on October 25, 2011, 08:29:25 PM
Currently in college after 21 years in the military as an Electronics technician.  My better half just got promoted and we will be moving to New Orleans.  I have a varied electronics background ( radar, communications, 3m), even though it is dated.  I have been looking for a slot technician school, however the internet has only given me solid hits on New Jersey and South Florida, with no reviews on how good / bad they are, both in instruction and placement.

I am willing to travel almost anywhere for the 5-10 weeks it will take to complete school.  Thanks for any information / links Y'all can provide to assist me in making a decision.   :99-

Hi Soul,

I believe the Community College of Southern Nevada currently has a slot tech course...I have no idea what it covers, as I went to Nevada Gaming School when we were know as Slot Mechanics...

You should be able to look up CCSN on the internet & find out about the course...hope this helps.

God bless,

any course that involves Randy Fromm is not only great training but also very well respected in the gaming industry.  i think Randy was trying to put together a tech school in SoCal awhile back but i don't know how far he got with it. as Mike mentioned there are some options in Nevada as well but there isn't much for the individual anywhere else.  i suggest trying to get hired by a local casino and persuing training through the casino; it's pretty tough to get the manager to budget in training but with your background they may be more willing to spend the funds on you.  good luck! :89-
