Symptom: Dead Board arrived with a description that 2 caps had blown up when inserted into a cabinet. User replaced the caps but the board was still dead. Removed 2 shorts between +5v and Ground where the user replaced the caps. Tested board. Both blown caps were on the -5v line which is needed for the sound section on this board. Symptom: No sync on video and no sound Replaced bad 74LS86 to fix horizontal sync issue and bad 3.579545MHz crystal on the audio board. Tested. |
