Title: DBV-200 - INFO!!!!!
Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on July 08, 2012, 11:16:38 AM
I find that the most prevalent problem with IGT S+ (others as well) is getting BVs to work in them.  I can't be alone in the frustration of trying to get a BV to power up and then accept BILLS am I?   There are different heads - different transports - different power supplies and on top of all the hardware there are EPROMS and FLASH memory which tells us which bills that all of the hardware supposedly will accept (on a good day - standing on one leg - rubbing your belly one way and your head another).   Not to leave other machines out of the equation - can someone EXPLAIN what the combinations and prematations of say the following:

DBV200  15VA     DBV200 5VA   DBV200 1A    DBV200-B023    ID023 ID024    ID023/ID023  etc etc etc.    What Boards they will work or not work on (10/16mhz)  etc etc.   If you respond to this (don't just stop - add more to the quote)

Am I asking to much?

Below is some info that i have gathered from different threads on here. If i am quoting someones post, a "thank you!" goes out to the original author!

Transports:
WBA-10 and 11: one way bill acceptance, 10 is a the flash version, the 11 is the eprom version.
WBA-12 and 13: 4 way bill acceptance, 12 is the flash version, and the 13 is the eprom version.

Heads:
The heads for all of the above are interchangeable, like for the 12 and 13, the head are the same. The differences lie in the transport (the part that houses the eprom or flash chip, motors etc.).

Software (Flash or Eprom):
The software that tells the head which bills it will accept is actually in the transport. The software "language" is the ID# (IGT is ID022, ID023, ID024; CDS, WMS, Atronics is ID003; I forget what Bally is, ID004 maybe). So, now, each language has different versions (i.e. v3.60) to accomodate different bills as they were produced. The JCM website has a PDF for each version (by ID#), explaining the differences as to which bills each version will accept. Here is the link to JCM site Software section:

http://www.jcmglobal.com/en/support/downloads/SoftwareInfo (http://www.jcmglobal.com/en/support/downloads/SoftwareInfo).

The ID is determined by your SP chip. The S+ can only use ID022/23. IDO23 & 24 are IGT only. S2000s, I Games, & Game Kings use a WBA 12/13 with IDO 24.

Harnesses:
You can convert a WBA by changing the CPU board and Harnessing. If your harness has 20 pins you need the WBA 12 CPU and harness. If it has 12 pins, you need ID-024 software for your WBA 11. The WBA 10 and 11 use a CPU that takes a 1 meg program. The WBA 12 and 13 use a 4 meg program. other than the CPU board and harness, the rest of the unit is identical.

DBV200 - You can test the DBV-200 in stand alone mode to see if it's operational. Flip on the Dip switch #6 on the second set of switches (6 pack) then power up, then turn Dip 6 off. The BV should cycle and accept bills without the stacker. If you want to test with the stacker, turn on number 1 on the same Dip switch pack and leave it on when you turn number 6 off. That will test the BV with the stacker.

DBV200 should have all switches off (for ID023) on the bottom of the head, with the exception of switch #10 on SW1 (for ID022) Make sure that none of the switches on SW2 are on. (The one with 6 switches.)

And that, is about all the info I have! I hope it helps, even if its just a little bit!

You can also find a lot of information in the Product Manual section of the JCM web site. The DBV-200 manual has a great reference for the different models of the 200 head. The "A" or "B" tray, the different CPU boards that are used (0 through 5 depending on the stacker and machine type). The WBA manual has information on the differences between WBA 10, 11,12 and 13 as well as their foreign counterparts the WBA 20,21,22 and 23. If you have a specific model question please feel free to shoot me an email. Having been their trainer for 11 years there is  a lot of information still rattling around upstairs
