Title: PROBLEMS WITH KORTEK CRT TUBE
Post by: osewe on September 20, 2012, 02:23:54 PM
Hi i have several crt tubes for kortek monitors that  i have been using with igt  machines and they have developed a problem of shorting hence i cannot use them. Is there a way to fix this problem .Has any one encountered such a problem?
Thanks

If the guns inside the neck of the tube are shorted you can try and tap on the neck with the handle of a screwdriver after the unit has been turned on and had a chance to warm up. I used to do this with a lot of Zenith tubes in the late 90's. If that doesn't work you'll have to try and find a tube rejuvenator

Sounds silly but have you tried to run them upside down? Also you can isolate the heater with a couple turns of wire around the fly or get a CRT isolation transformer...about 15 bucks.
