Title: Top Dollar percentage changing...I want to LOSE more often, sort of...
Post by: shortrackskater on January 23, 2013, 05:07:04 AM
I read the thread on changing on a mulch-denomination machine. I'm guessing mine would be similar but...my question is:

Can I change the percentage for the bonus game (the Top Dollar symbol) AND the percentage for general "hits" like single, double, triple bars, etc?
What I want, are LESS Top Dollar symbol hits, and MORE "regular" hits. I love this game, but it hits Top Dollar so often that you CAN'T LOSE! I keep going over 1000 dollars. It's more fun when you lose and not hit too often.
I wanna lose!  :37-

The top box portion of the game doesn't have a changeable hit percentage, it's all controlled by the MPU. Change the game settings down to 88% or whatever the lowest setting is and see if that helps

Really wish I had this problem at the local casino.  :97-

One dollar...the BIG Eisenhower ones!
One nice think I did learn is that I set it correctly...if a payout sends the credit amount over $1000, it starts dropping coins, then the difference comes out in a ticket.
But it's still strange that it hits the TD so often and very little anybar, one/two/three bar hits, or the Double Diamond symbol.

I have 4 different Barcrest games and they all hit rather frequently on the bonus round than decent straight reel wins. That's what keeps them popular. Although I did hit the jackpot on my King Cash the first day I got it

On the S+ versions, no matter which SP chip you'd use (which would determine the payback percentage), the odds of hitting the top box bonus were the same.  I can't swear that the S2000 version is the same, but it wouldn't shock me if it was.

Off the top of my head, the odds of hitting the Barcrest Pinball bonus were 1 in 64 for the S+.  I suspect that Top Dollar was the same, but I don't have a PAR sheet at my fingertips.

Speaking of which, if you have a PAR sheet for your S2000 Top Dollar machine, that will show the odds of triggering the bonus, and will show if those odds change or not with the different payback programs.

By setting your top dollar at 87% will help controll the bonus hits to not hit as much..... but the flip side is you will also get less reel hits..... the bonus round i think is set to hit 1 out of 49 spins.....
