Title: WTS ~ TITO @ Home has arrived
Post by: bhinkley on February 11, 2013, 01:24:11 AM
My custom TITO board is finally ready to release to general users.  Currently it will run on all IGT S2000 and IGame machines with the cables I can make to connect to the boards in the machines.  This board allows you to print out tickets from the ticket printer and insert them in the bill validator to add the credits back on the machine.  This will also allow you to take a ticket from one machine and put it in any other machine that is running one of my boards.  Another feature I have on my board is that if you press the service button it will add 1000 credits to the machine for you.  This feature can be disabled simply by placing a jumper on my board, which is included in all purchases.  The board will work on Bally Alpha and newer machines, and also WMS bluebirds, but I do not have the wiring for the cables on those machines figured out yet, so you can purchase a board without a cable and make the cable yourself, or wait until I get the cable worked out.

Board is a professionally printed board.  There are no loose wires to knock free if you bump it.  Boards come with the following:

TITO board
Power cable
Instructions for how to connect to the machine (on fully supported machines)

All for the low price of $45 per board!  (Price change as of 1/1/14---- Boards will be going up to $55 for the kit)

If you need extra cables, I can easily do so, and only charge $5 for that to cover the parts and labor to put together.  As most of us are on here, I am a hobbyist, so I am looking to keep the cost of the boards as low as possible for everyone.

Shipping rates are as follows:

1-4 boards shipped priority mail $6
5+ boards shipped priority mail $12

Special thanks to TZTech for the help in getting my code working so I could get this board released.

If you would like to place an order, please send me a personal message and I will give you details on ordering.

not sure how to post video directly on here, but I do have a YouTube video that I did when I first got it up and running.  In the video I state that the service button adds $10 in credits.  since then I have determined it is 1000 credits based on the accounting denomination that we are actually adding, but my machine is a $0.01 denom for the accounting.  The video link is:

I am also willing to sell them for the same price based on the arduino platform
TITO
Variable legacy bonus by the Change button or by a spare player button easy to to do on S2000
Spare player button - you only have to press the button to initiate the legacy bonus instead of toggling the Change button on then off

On standard 7 button deck either install button next in between bet one credit and spin button or next to max bet (normally Select Credit Value)

I will mainly support the S2000

Hello all!

I just wanted to give my thumbs up to the TITO @ Home offered by bhinkley!

 :259-

I received my boards last night and had them installed in my IGT S2000 machines in about 10 minutes.  I followed the included instructions to set the needed options (keychip was required) and had no issues.  The board and cables are professionally made and well packed.  The ability to add 1,000 credits with the service button is also a nice feature!  I also like that I can turn that feature off with a simple jumper.

If you have been thinking about adding this to your machines, I would highly recommend it.  It was incredible to finally be able to have a machine validate a printed ticket!  It was also incredible be able to use a ticket from machine to machine.  I have been waiting for this for years!  Any questions, let me know.

Dan #2

So along with the board and stuff, what do I need to make the cable to connect it to a IGT S2000 or igame?

I'm thinking I would like a couple of these to start but would like to better understand what is required to make it work once I get it.

Brian you and tz did an outstanding job.

I have two machines a S-plus with a bill acceptor, no printer, and a s2000 with Tito .  Will the S2000 ticket work in the s+ and add credits?

Title: Re: WTS ~ TITO @ Home has arrived
Post by: Foster on February 13, 2013, 12:45:06 AM
S+ does not do TITO, only EFT or Legacy bonus plus the interface that is being used is RS232 and you need the RS232 board for the S+.

OK, if I go with my S2000, Barcrest, will I need any extra cables?  If so I will need you to provide.  How much for one with the shipping and how do I pay you.

Thanks

Beyond the board you need a keychip to set the appropriate settings on your machine when you hook up the board, and you need the cable, which consists of 3 wires, a DB9 serial connector and housing, and a molex SL 5 pin connector and pins to make the connection to the machine.  I supply the power cable with all the boards for the IGT machines for the board price.  Really from my experience it will be hard to find a better price on the parts to make the cables if you have any stores like I do around me, but you are free to try.  It only takes me like 10-15 minutes to make a cable, so the labor cost in a cable price is very small.  It is almost all parts price for the cable part of the price.  No pressure to buy the cable though.  if you want to make it I can definitely support that as well with the pin out for you to do so.

Yes there is.  As long as the machine communicates with SAS language it will work with it.  I just have not got the wiring connections for the machines figured out quite yet on them.  Bally Alpha and later the board will work on.

I received my 2 boards today.  Up and running in an S2000 and a Game King and they work beautifully!   :3-  Thank's for a great product!!

The install took a little translating from the S2000 instructions to make the Game King work but even for a novice, taking my time, I had both good to go in 1 hour.  Love it!! :89-

:259- to bhinkley & TZtech.     I didn't see any install pics so here are my two boards installed.  Game King on the side wall, and the S2000 on the back wall.   :133-

This is awesome!  I have to get some of these!  I have a Bally 6000 and an IGT I+ and will soon be adding a BB1.5 to my line up.  It will be so nice to be able to print tickets and use them in all the machines.  Plus I love the idea of adding credits.  Now I won't have to keep a bunch of money lying around for the machines.   :131-

Thanks for the pin information Ian.  I was looking for information on this so I could try working out the bally connections for people.  :)  I will have to dig through my connectors to see if I have the right ones to tie into these locations for testing to see what happens and start discovering settings.

Thanks!

If you can send me a photo of a ticket that came out of a machine with Bettor TITO I can tell you if it will work with it.  I have not personally seen one of those units, but I believe it uses the same validation as my system.

Just as an FYI -  to all the Bettor TITO customers out there -

We have no idea if this board will work with our units or not.   If it is compatible and all you're
looking for is simple ticket redemption system then go for it.  We enjoy competition and applaud Bhinkley for a job well done.

HOWEVER -

Without breaking my NDA -     Our units will soon be able to be upgraded with features that no other board will be able accomplish.
Prepare yourselves -  the revolution in slot ownership is about to happen.    More to come...................

Those tickets are generated using system validation, which is the same that my board uses, so tickets would work between those systems it looks like.

Just to clarify things here - This project is bhinkleys and I am not making any money from it and not involved in it in any way apart from supplying code.

Brian had a board ready to be sold but was having problems getting the software working - I bought one of his boards late last year and ported my code to a 20 pin chip that would run on his board. Its a nicely made board available at a good price and a great alternative to the developement boards I was initially using in my projects and this is the reason why I fully support his project.

The SAS@Home project will continue to be available for free to anyone wishing to DIY - You are welcome to PM me.

To clarify on TZTech's post, the special thanks I am giving to him in helping to get the project off the ground was not saying he was gaining anything financially by helping.  He was gratious enough to buy a board that was untested and not working yet with the code I had on it so far to help me get it up and running.  The costs I charge for the boards are barely making anything for me as he can probably verify based on what he has built.  My goal of the project is not for making profit, it is to get a well made product to NLG members at a reasonable price because I enjoy doing this as a hobby and want to spread the enjoyment.  The cost charged is basically only covering parts and labor to assemble the boards.

Now for some hopefully exciting news.  Me and TZTech are discussing new options to build into my boards and we have some good ones so far.  If you have any ideas for added features, please let me know and I will see if we can add them.

Thank you.  It's my pleasure to help you through the issue to get you up and running fully.

One question for everyone as I am testing that I want to clarify as I may have discovered something last night working on testing some boards.  When you are setting up your boards that you have gotten, do you connect the power plug first, or the comm board plug first to the machine?  I don't know if it was just a fluke last night, but the one board I was working with when I plugged in the power plug first and then the comm board plug it seems that the PIC processor lost the programming, but it may just not have written correctly when I programmed it.  Just wanting to confirm so I can update install instructions if I need to.

I have the set that came with the machine S6MDS7C0008 I believe these are 2008,   I thought I had this working on those also will have to try  again
and a set from Rudy's again no numbers except U-28 and U 43
I thought I had this working on those also will have to look

I know that on SAS programs to get all setting you have to use 2004 or newer. Without SAS programs you have to use 2003 to print.
Being you are using all settings I would say you are using 2004 or newer.

Since both FORDSBS and I have a working Bally 6000 now and i am out of machines to play with,

 you asked

Me and TZTech are discussing new options to build into my boards and we have some good ones so far.  If you have any ideas for added features, please let me know and I will see if we can add them.

Can i get this board to show what codes are being past to and from the board on the player tracking display

and i know you are going to be able to link the machines at some point, a mystery Jackpot for me would be a nice feature.

Player Tracking display - what type do You have? Zarobhr was kind enough to sponsor me a set of mastercom 250 hardware so I have the VFD and keypad working for those and have ordered some Cds Stuff from Glenabc4 sale.

Mystery Jackpot - Nice idea - will give some thought on how to implement that.

Novice question. How are these able to work with newer mains when the 2003's are the ones needed for stand alone  printing?

This board simulates a back-end casino TITO system. As far as the machine is concerned, it is communicating with a real TITO system and isn't printing stand-alone tickets anymore.

If you are running 2003's it will print 1 ticket & no more.

Thank you, not being a tech person this is what I was missing. So really those who have not switched to the 03 mains and wish to print tito this saves them that price of what I noticed to be around $20. So at $45 with the possibility of player tracking to me is awesome. One I am employed and have money to spend I'll get one on order as well as making a donation to NLG for all the information provided.

When you do have it tested and confirmed, if you can forward me any settings you need to set and everything that would be appreciated so I can add the bally alpha to the supported list.  I believe I have info on the 12V power.  I will look and post it if it is not here yet if I find it.

Proten - Aristocrat talks their propreitary protocol called ASP. You can however install a SPC2 board which will convert SAS to ASP.

Great stuff - As far as I know the US sw versions require a keychip to change settings - If You have that it should be easy enough. For Comms we need TX,RX and Gnd which will come off the SPC2 board and will check where on the backplane we can get power from

I got this working with my Bally Alpha American Original last night.  There's 12VDC power available on the backplane, but I didn't have the right molex connectors . I had a 12VDC power adapter in my junk box, so I used that and plugged it into the switched AC outlet in the bottom of the machine.  Make sure the tip polarity is (+) positive.  I used a serial cable that Brian makes for IGT machines, and re-pinned the COM1 end of it as follows:

DB9             COM1
 1      GND       1
 3      TXD       3
 4      RXD       2

Here's where I installed it in the machine.  You can see the cable going to COM1 on the backplane, and the power adapter for it plugged in on the right.

A new update for all you WMS bluebird owners.  TITO @ home is now supported on the bluebird platform as well.  Communication cables for the bluebird will be the same cost as the IGT being $5 on top of the board price if you need one made for you.  The only thing I haven't had time to track down yet is the power I can tap into, but I am working on that now.

For everyone's enjoyment I am trying out some new features as soon as I get a few things I need for the board, but here is a run down of what I am going to be testing.  All the original boards will be able to be upgraded for just the cost of shipping and one part if you want the new features once I finish running the tests.  The board will be having remote control   :3-  It will be able to use a cheap TV remote to enable/disable sound, enable/disable machine, and add credits to the machine.  It only needs one added part on the board and then the remote and an update to the processor to work with the code if all goes well.

TZTech, I bow to your continued work to get added features working for people that would want them.   :131-

Bally S6000

Partially Supported (can fully support with cables and have screenshots from someone to help with the settings):
Bally Alpha

For anyone that has not bought, or is looking to buy more....  Here is an opprotunity you cannot pass up.

There has been a change effective immediately to pricing on TITO @ Home.  Now the cables are included with the board for the same low price (a savings of $5-10 per board depending on what type of machine you are running the board in).  This means you get the board and all the cables you need to run it for the low price of $45.

I will also be offering custom free credit amounts.  You pick the amount (choose between 500, 1000, 2000, 5000, or 10000 credits per button press for the feature when you have it enabled)

Now for the deal you just can't pass up....

From tomorrow (9/13/13) until the end of October (10/31/13) all orders will get 10% off the purchase price.  This is a special spooktacular sale going on to clear out some boards and get more in to get ready to go simply because I love Halloween so why not have a sale.   :3-

To purchase all you have to do is send me a personal message letting me know how many boards, and what platform they are for (IGT S2000, IGAME, Bally s6000, Bally Alpha, Bally Evo, Bluebird) and also what state they would be getting shipped to.  As I have officially started a business with my state all sales to Minnesota residents sadly I have to charge sales tax on, but all others I am still free to not charge tax.  Once you send the info I will respond to you with how much the total including priority mail shipping with tracking number is (it is just a flat rate $6 shipping anywhere in the continental USA).

Yes you can.  The board does not "void" the tickets, so they are re-usable until they wear out.

It still sounds like your bill validator is an issue.  If the tickets are working at all the system is functioning.

I took a bill validator out of one of my Alphas, same thing!!
Also, I can sit and put 20 after 20, 10 after 10, 50 after 50 and not ONE spits back out! I also can put one ticket or money in, and cashout. Then I can put another ticket or bill in, cash out and get a hand pay the second time!

As I discussed on the phone with you though, some bill validator heads are very picky with tickets.  I suggest getting a head that has been tested working with tickets to see if that resolves your issues.

The bill validator out of my Alpha works PERFECTLY! It's the SAME MODEL as the one in my S6000!

OK, heres my delimna ....
I put the TITO in my S2000 which works PERFECTLY without the TITO installed!
My S2000 has an enhanced Board with an Enhanced sound simm..... Have others had success with the TITO and an S2000 using the enhanced MPU?
I set ALL settings per the piece of paper I received. Here's where I stand!

If I press Cashout, it displays the following looped message, "PRESS CASHOUT FOR HANDPAY, SORRY, THE PRINTER IS NOT AVAILABLE, PRESS PLAY MAX CREDITS TO CANCEL"
I did a 4.7.2 Printer test and it printed a blank ticket as it should! If I push cashout again, if does a handpay!

I am using Key 45 and Clear 224 with the following checksums - Key 45 000A0BD7CHKSUM, Clear 224 002968DDCHKSUM

Thanks,
JR

I have tested and sold boards that I have personally installed on the enhanced MPU following the exact instructions that were sent with your boards, and they function fine right out of the gate.

I have an enhanced mpu and my own TITO, progressive and player tracking system and it works great
you have to set it for System Validation
Disable Bally Miser to free up Channel 3 and set SAS primary to channel 3 and address 001
also the other SAS settings cashless, progressive, etc , etc set to primary.

We had a machine that would do a perfect test ticket, but hand pay every time. It was the machine settings that had the asset number and serial number reversed. It needed a ram clear to correct the settings.

Not likely the issue here, but thought I'd throw it out there. Check all the info on the test ticket and see if anything is not quite right.

Asset number and serial number do not matter in system validation,
I would change 7.1.5 to SAS EFT (it should not matter, but it might fix it)
System validation does not even use the serial number or asset number to function, it only needs the ticket number and amount

So is it a different system when it's a home machine? We have advantage in ours on the floor, and I think it was because the advantage numbers did not match those of the machine. The advantage numbers were correct in our case, the error was in the machine settings.

I'm not familiar with the way it works with home machines, but I am curious to know.

Title: Re: WTS ~ TITO @ Home has arrived

Home machines are actual machines that used to be in casinos.  We just use a more simple version of the protocol and validation settings to communicate, but if you unplugged a machine in a casino from the mainframe and plugged my board in it would work if the settings were changed to match what I use.

Title: Re: WTS ~ TITO @ Home has arrived
Post by: Styx on September 23, 2013, 01:50:22 AM
So because you use a simpler version of settings, not everything is in play like asset and serial numbers etc? Good to know. I imagine it must also be a much simpler communication system too, since it's not connected to advantage, a bank, or floor?

I'd make some wisecrack about how there must be WAY fewer error codes to deal with, but I'd like to keep the karma I already have. My smart ass is  :58-

You are correct.  Much fewer error codes because most commands are just ignored.  The board simply looks for the commands related only to the TITO and ignores everything else, with the exception of the free credits by hitting the change button.

Get them before sale goes off. Here's Brian's post.

This is a special spooktacular sale going on to clear out some boards and get more in to get ready to go simply because I love Halloween so why not have a sale.   applause

Only 10 days left on this sale!!  It is a great buy.  Now is your chance to get the TITO @ Hone for the lowest price of the year.  There won't be a price this low again for a long time.  I still have 38 boards complete and ready to ship as of the time of this posting and parts on the way for a bunch more.  On 11/1 the price goes back up to $45 each board.  I will still include the cables in the price of the board for now, but that could change if the price of those parts goes back up, so now is the best time to get your boards ordered while I can offer the rock bottom pricing.

These are not TITO with two boards that are Velcro's together are they? If not, do you supply step by step instructions on the set up. Is there any more price break for multi orders.

They are a single board.  No Velcro involved.  They do come with instructions for all machines that are fully supported.  Yes there is a price break for multiple board orders.  10% off orders once you order the 5th board.

Wow, I have not keyed a machine in some time but after about a 5 min install on the board, hardest part was figuring out where I wanted to install it, I was able to muddle my way thru the key chip process and like magic my Double Triple Wild Cherry now has TITO.  Many Kudo's to the gentlemen who made this possible at such an affordable price.  Ordering was easy, delivery was on-time and the board works as expected.  Now two more to install tomorrow, question is which machines to install them in....

Thanks again for the great product,
Mike

You're welcome Mike.  Glad it works so well for you.

On a nice side note....  Thank you to everyone that took advantage of the spooktacular sale I did.  Because of all the purchases all the old inventory was sold out and then some.  New inventory is in production right now and should be ready to ship by the end of the week if all goes well.

Super Spin Sizzling 7 now has TITO, loving this!  Today/tonight will be my big challenge, going to try to install on my Tabasco machine and at the same time enable the multi denomination button that came in it.  Thats getting to be a lot of changes for one key chip, my old mind that has only done a few key chips, may overheat on this one.  If this goes well I'll be ready to order 3 more kits to install in my remaining three S2000s oh and I guess I should do the GameKing as well.  Hope a Black Friday Sale magically appears, wink wink....  These things will probably drive up blank ticket sales :)

As of right now I don't see a black Friday sale happening.  Some of the parts I was using to keep costs down have been exhausted from the market, so I am on the search for some comparable ones that will still keep the board cost low enough to do a sale like that.  If I do maybe one will pop up though.  :)

Mike  Attached you will find a file that explains how to do the multi denomination on the S2000.  This info came from NLG site and I condensed it into a PDF file.   Hope it helps.  I have four of the TITO boards now on both Bally and IGT slots.  THey work perfect.  A really nice extra for any slot machine.  Ted

@ Ted, thanks for the document was a great help.  My Tabasco is now a multi denominational ticket printing, ticket taking money making machine.  Of course the money making is debatable now that it takes tickets :)

@ Brian, I see how you are, as bad as the meth dealers.  You get us hooked on your product, claim parts shortage, price goes up due to the scarcity of the product...  Man....  J/K of course, hope you find a new supplier for parts quickly, I've got machines waiting, my little home casino needs tickets :P

Thanks again to everyone for the wonderful products and the outstanding expertise.

Mike

The parts are still out there, just not the super cheap ones to do Black Friday sales yet.  Lol.  Prices are not going up though.  Still the same low price I have always offered, and still currently including the cables for free as I found the parts for those in good quality but lower cost alternative manufacturers.

I think this has already been discussed to some extent here but thought I would ask again.  Two of my machines make a noise when the money/ticket goes in.  On my Tabasco machine it makes sounds when money goes in but not when a ticket goes in.  Is there a setting somewhere that I can change to have the ticket make the same sounds as when I put money in?  If not then oh well but thought I would ask.

Mike

Great news for everyone wanting TITO @ Home or wanting more.  I have found a supplier that can get me a good price on some cheaper parts, so there will be a Black Friday sale this year.  For the Friday after thanksgiving only, boards will be sold for $8 off the regular price ($37 for the board and cable set).  I will be out of town that day, but any order that comes in during that day my time will be honored at that price.  Even if I run out of inventory during the sale (which I don't think I will as I have close to 100 boards on hand right now) I will still honor the price if you place your order during the sale.

Proten/Gunnerbill

Aristocrats talk a proprietary protocol called ASP - to talk SAS a SPC2 board is converted which essentially translates from the one language to the other.
Do your machines have SPC2 boards ?

@TZtech= yes, Both my MK6 have an SPC board. What else do I need? Anything special with the setup. If I remember right, In Config, and under SPC I have to make it a one or something like that?
@ Tilt = Thank you for the Picture and Wiring Diagram for the Bally. (K+) What is the wiring diagram for the IGT 3902

Bill - You will need the correct connector to fit the SPC2 board and then we need to figure out where to get power from.
Then it should simply be a case of optioning machine correctly.

Maybe BHinkley will consider a discount to anyone willing to test and document new machines/manufacturers

Yes I usually do offer a discount for 1 board to do that.  No warranty would be able to be offered on the discounted board though as you would be working with a fully unsupported board that I have no way of knowing if it is getting connected correctly while trying to get it working.

There You go Aristocrat owners - K+ to Brian  for the offer.
The USA versions of Aristocrat are slighlty different than ours (yours require a keychip as far as I know) but I will take some screenshots of the SAS setup screens when I am back at work

@ TZtech and Bhinkley, Ok, Sounds good for the Aristocrat, I'll be the guinea pig!! I remember playing around with the SPC boards. They fault out alot and need to be reset . I may even have a harness laying around

On another note. Advantage makes a player tracking system. Key pad, VFD and card reader all plug into the BEII. The BEii gets its info from SAS. Could these TITO Card simulate the SAS process to control the VFD Display. Stupid thought, just throwing it out there

Actually its been the plan to get this going but using mastercom 250 vfd, keypad and cardreader setup as these seem to be more common on the second hand market.

Very much looking forward to seeing the Mastercom 250 interfaced and working!   :185-

I am putting in the second of two boards. First was installed in a Bally Alpha - works great! Second is going on an S2000! I plan to put this on most of the machines I sell. Great Work Brian! Board and cables are well done. For those considering...this board is great quality and priced very reasonably. Brian - I will PM you for direct order details, first two came from my supplier.

Update for all the users that are thinking of buying bluebird sets from me.  I have discovered that different backplanes on the bluebird have different pin outs for the power jack, so I will need you to be able to check certain pins for me with a volt meter when placing an order to make sure I get the cable made correctly for you.

Now some really great news.  I have decided to extend my black friday sale.  Starting right now, and going thru Black Friday boards are now on the Black Friday sale.  That is $37 for a complete set.  Happy buying!!!!

For anyone that is looking to buy one of my boards, or more of them...  As of 1/1/2014 I am having to raise the price of the kit to $55 plus shipping.  Place your orders prior to January 1st to get in on the lower price of $45.

Just a reminder for everyone.  There is less than a week before the price of the boards goes up to $55 per board.  Get them now before the price increase.
