Title: GK door open, can my board be faulted?
Post by: CYRIL1973 on March 24, 2013, 10:31:28 AM
Hi,

My GK is an old sttule one I assume, see pics.
It worked fine, then cam a low battery tilt then a door open tilt.
I checked every single locks but to no avail.

Last thing, the board... I am looking to get another one to star my machine again.

Please help.

What resets did you go through after changing the battery and what exactly does the error message you're getting say?

Have you checked door optics for alignment and proper operation? Is the door latch fully seated?

When I put the two door optics together, no result, still door open...

Sounds like bad optics. My first suggestion would be to swap them with a known working set or maybe do the bypass using the cherry switch like a lot of do on S2000 machines

Thanks for your help.

Is there a pic somewhere of the bypass you're alluding to?

You don't think the board could be half dead? I remember having the same problem on an S 2000, changing the board solved the problem.

Different boards, likely a different cause. Do a search under "bypassing S2000 door optics" and you'll find more info than you need

Run ONE wire from the Purple wire  optics on the door side, to the Green optic wire on the cabnet side. Put a switch in the middle of the jumper wire. I do not like cutting wires so I just bare about 3/8 of a inch on both ends of the jumper wire, stick each end down in the molex plug and plug back together.
