Title: S2000 Wild Cherry Chips.....are these right or wrong
Post by: miket on May 01, 2013, 02:04:25 AM
Got a Wild Cherry 2CM single payline with the following chips.

VERSION CHIP VS009SX0
STEPPER BASE CANT READ
STEPPER GAME 1 AND 2 SG000120

SOUND BOARD SIMM DSV00043

There are no others chips IE..SSxxxx

The game currently does not play constant eprom errors. Do I need an SS chip, something different than what I currently have. I am scratching my head

Base chip you need a SB100094 We don't know what you have.  I don't think I would use SG000120 but I don't know of any reason why they won't work. I put SG000363 in everything.

Now you have a small problem with your sound simm. Someone must have installed it as a joke, DSV00043 is for Cleopatra, maybe Cleo was a wild Bitch as a young girl / Wild Cherry ( Damn I've got a sick mind )

Now all BS aside, assuming you already have a SB100094 or for that matter any good 3 reel SB chip the machine should boot up and play. If you have the wrong SB chip install the pay out will be all wrong but the machine will play. With zero credits on the machine install a key chip ( I use a Key 31 ) and go through the key menu set up.

Mike after I posted this I looked at your old post and you said you have a eprom burner, Put the unknown SB chip in the burrner and looking at the bins right up on the top it will tell you what the numbers of that chip.

Hey Buzz
I picked this up as a non working project. I am awaiting my 31 chip......tomorrow maybe. Anyway I used a 97 chip went thru the eprom error, 4 turns of the jackpot key and close the door.....Then i get a system error, open the door and back to invalid eprom. any ideas. :103-

That all sounds pretty normal. After you do a clear, install the key31 and back to the base chip you will get a system error a couple of times before the machine will go into key menu. You will get that God awful alarm just turn the key a bunch of times ( you can't turn it too many times ) and watch the VFD display, it will at some time tell you to press test button for 3 seconds and then close main door, it will error at least one more time.

I use to buy from this guy in China and always got real good chips from him.   http://www.buyicnow.com/

This guy is on ebay and I've bought quite a few from him and again always good chips shipped in tubes. If you make him a offer of $400 he will except the offer for 100 M27C801 and 100 M27C4002 with free shipping. ( Watch his shipping charges, he tries to rape you sometimes )              http://www.ebay.com/sch/lidoctor188/m.html?item=171005240494&nma=true&rt=nc&si=UXcopff8NylevRcox2CdYhezsUY%253D&orig_cvip=true&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&_trksid=p2047675.l2562

If your only wanting a few chips PM me your address and you can have them for what they cost me.

I have been able to read the chip that is currently installed, but I am unsure where I am to look for the identifier

The chip number (I.e. SB1000094) will be listed in the right hand (ASCII) column. Scroll all the way down and you will come acrossed it. I forget offhand where it's located at exactly in an SB file, but you'll see it.

Any SB chip I've ever looked at, the number is on the third line down. If you don't see it on the very top I would say that is your problem, BAD SB chip.

You can also read a SG chip and come up with the number, but IGT in their wisdom made it a little harder. Every other letter or number will be on Game 1 chip and the remainder letters and numbers will be on Game 2 chip. Example SG000363, on Game 1 chip you will see  S 0 0 6 and on Game 2 chip you will see G 0 3 3

I just noticed something as I was about to throw this chip away. If you look at the image i posted you can see that it says adapter needed. I will have to get that before I try much else

Uh oh, yep. Good catch! You would have thought all your chips were bad!

Note: We don't throw out a chip until we know it cannot be erased and re-written.
