Title: S-2000 Progressive Link Down
Post by: Ron (r273) on May 24, 2013, 02:51:21 PM
I was having trouble with my Mikohn not retaining it's memory so I changed out the battery.
Now it will not fire up because it is reading Link Progressive Down. I checked my settings in the machine
and Mikohn and all is the same as it was before. Checked continuity in harness and it is good

What might I check next?

I'd say you have to reprogram Mikohn.

Hi Ron,

Any progress on this ?
All I can add to this is make sure all connections are tight
also I know you are well versed with psp but are you sure its set for
F4=M08 and F8=MS08 also set for SA on the cham board.

Funny thing my Tabasco progressive went down yesterday with Link Progressive Down
turned out to be a intermittent (mikohn)power supply...I just swapped the power supply and all is good now.
Put it back in the machine after reprogramming in psp and it fired right up
Link progressive down went away after I reinstalled everything.

I've had to replace most if not all my ChamII+ batteries
due to the age of these units and you can add 1 power supply to that list.
Probably a cap problem...but its put on the repair shelf for now.

Okay...I'll shut up now,Just wondering how you made out ?

Tim

Yeah all settings the same but will not let me download to the Mikohn. Might have to make a new cable?

Oh in the first post I gathered you had it reprogrammed with fresh battery
put it back into the machine and still got progressive link down error.

Not downloading to cham board could be cable issue yes
If you have another serial cable laying around you could always
try putting a jumper on top row pins 1and5 of the DB9 chamII+ board
or solder jumper on the pins below....save you from making or gutting a cable.
Just a thought....

It's WORKING Tim! I recheck my Mikhon settings and it was the SA setting. Soon as I entered it it went Aaaaaa Eeeeee!

Thanks so much Tim for reminding me to check my settings again, especially the Mikohn's. K+ to you!
